Coraline Jones is an adventurous 11-year-old girl who has just moved with her parents to Oregon. She discovers a secret door in her new home that leads to a parallel world where everything seems better, including a kind Other Mother. However, when the Other Mother's kindness turns dangerous and she plans to keep Coraline forever, Coraline must use all her courage and intelligence to escape back to the real world and save her family. The film has a moral about appreciating what you have rather than always looking for something better.

Coraline Jones (voiced by Dakota Fanning) is an 11-year-old girl full of live,
curiosity and much more adventurous than her age would suggest. He has just moved with his parents (Teri Hatcher, John Hodgman) from Michigan to Oregon. He misses his friends, and seeing that his parents are overwhelmed with work, he decides to find some distraction in the neighborhood. Wybie Lovat (Robert Bailey Jr), a boy her age who lives in the neighborhood, wants to be her friend, but she considers him annoying. He visits his neighbors, two eccentric English actresses called Miss Spink and Miss Forcible (Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French) and the even more eccentric Russian Mr. Bobinsky (Ian McShane). After these experiences, Coraline begins to seriously doubt whether her new home will offer her any fun... But he is wrong. He discovers a secret door inside his house. All you have to do is cross the threshold of the door and walk down a gloomy hallway to enter another version of your life. Apparently, this parallel reality is similar to his life, but better. The adults, including a very kind Other Mother (also voiced by Teri Hatcher), seem much more affectionate. Even the mysterious Cat (Keith David) is more likeable. Coraline begins to think that she belongs in this Other World. But when the amazing and fantastical visit begins to turn dangerous and the Other Mother plans to keep her forever, Coraline must call on all her resourcefulness, determination and bravery to return home and save her family. In my opinion it is a very cool movie that has many elements and a great moral which is that in real life, many people can fall into the temptation of looking for something more, something better, without appreciating what they have in front of them. History shows that this mentality can lead us down a dangerous path and that it is important to recognize and appreciate what is really important in life.
