Why should you see

these Emily in Paris
!lming locations?

Truth be told, I do have a love and hate

relationship with Emily in Paris! On
the one hand, there are many things
that are false or prejudices about
French people and about living in
Paris. It can be quite upsetting! But, on
the other hand, this series shares the
beauty of Paris and got hooked at the
story. So, I love watching it and I cannot
wait for the next seasons !

Emily in Paris has the benefit of

showing you some of the most
famous Parisian spots, but also some
hidden Parisian gems and less
explored areas. So, whether you
appreciate watching the series or not,
you will love exploring these Emily in
Paris filming locations and you should
add them to your Paris itinerary!

Emily in Paris !lming

locations – Season 1
In the 1st season of Emily in Paris, you
will discover the charm of the 5th
arrondissement and its hidden gems.
Aka the Quartier Latin – Latin Quarter
– it’s one of the capital’s central
arrondissements located on the on the
left bank of the River Seine.

The 5th arrondissement is famous for its

student life, lively atmosphere,
affordable restaurants, and bars, and to
be the home of many higher education
establishments.

If you follow Emily’s steps in Paris, you

will also admire quantity of the famous
landmarks, parks, cafes and other places
that makes Paris so stunning!

Let’s enjoy together the filming

locations of Emily in Paris Season 1!

Place de l’Estrapade, Emily’s

apartment

In the 1ST episode of Emily in Paris

Season 1, Emily Cooper from Chicago
moves to Paris for her new role at a
marketing agency. She moves in a
“chambre de bonne” on the 5th floor
(without elevator) of a building on Place
de l’Estrapade in Paris.

FYI a “chambre de bonne” is usually a

single room on the top floor in an
apartment building intended as the
bedroom for one of the family’s
domestics. They are characterized by
their small sizes around 6–12 m2 (65 to
130 sq ft) and tend to offer minimal
facilities. For example the toilets are
usually shared with the other rooms on
the same floor and located on the
landing. So, you can see why Emily’s
apartment on Place de l’Estrapade
isn’t a real “Chambre de Bonne”.

Anyway, Place de l’Estrapade is a

charming square in the quaint Latin
Quarter, the 5th arrondissement in Paris.
It features some high trees and a few
benches where you can sit to enjoy the
area.

Location: Place de l’Estrapade

My secret tip: Place de l’Estrapade is

only 2/3 min walk from the Pantheon,
so use this opportunity to see one of
Paris most stunning landmarks!

Place de Valois, Emily’s

o!ce

RESTAURAN

In the 1ST episode of Emily in Paris

Season 1, Emily starts her new job at
the office of the agency “Savoir”
located Place de Valois in the 1st
arrondissement. Emily’s office in the
series is located next to the Galerie
Patrick Fourtin, an art gallery
specialized in 20th century furniture
and decorative arts, like Art Deco.

Place de Valois a fancy square next to

the Palais Royal and the Louvre
Museum.

Location: Place de Valois

My secret tip: there is a nice café

located Place de Valois named “Bistrot
Valois” if you want to eat or drink
something. It’s perfect to enjoy the chic
vibes of the area and pretend you are
Emily in Paris! Actually this is where
Emily’s coworkers have lunch (without
her).

Emily discovers the delicious taste of

“un pain au chocolat” at the
Boulangerie Moderne in the 1ST
episode of Emily in Paris Season 1. This
pretty bakery is located right next to
her apartment on Place de l’Estrapade.
With its traditional façade and its
yummy treats you can totally
understand why it’s part of Emily in
Paris filming locations! Of course, you
cannot go there and not try a pain au
chocolat, a croissant or any other French
specialty!

Location: Boulangerie Moderne

My secret tip: Be aware that this bakery

gets quite busy at lunch as all the
students in the area are on their lunch
break during weekdays. That would be
the worst moment to take a photo!

Jardin du Palais Royal

In the 1ST episode of Emily in Paris

Season 1, Emily has lunch alone on a
bench at the garden of Palais Royal.
That’s when she meets Mindy for the
first time, who is taking care of 2 French
children (she’s their nanny). They
become immediately friends!

Location: Jardin du Palais Royal

My secret tip: You can notice that Emily

is sitting on a bench that features a
thought-provoking quote “Aujourd’hui
c’est demain et hier qui s’épousent”.
Actually 18 of the 52 benches across the
garden are adorned with some 20th
century writers’ provocative quotes. You
can check them all and find your
favorite one!

Luxembourg Gardens

At the beginning of Emily in Paris

Season 1 episode 2, Emily is jogging in
Luxembourg Gardens, one of the
most beautiful parks and gardens in
Paris! It’s located in the 6th
arrondissement and covers 25 hectares.
It was created in 1612 at the request of
the Queen Marie de Medici. The Jardin
du Luxembourg features no less than
106 statues, Emily is actually capturing
one of them for her Instagram! But you
can also admire here some French
gardens, English gardens, a forest,
and a large pond. The Luxembourg
Palace in front of the garden is the
seat of the French Senate. I had the
opportunity to see it a few years ago
during the “Journées du Patrimoine”,
and I was quite impressed!

Location: Jardin du Luxembourg

My secret tip: do not miss the stunning

Medici Fountain near the Luxembourg
Palace, it’s a gem!

In the 2nd episode of Emily in Paris

Season 1, Emily and Mindy are having
dinner at the restaurant “Les Deux
Comperes” in which her handsome
neighbor Gabriel is the chef. In reality
it’s an Italian restaurant named “Terra
Nera”. It’s right close by the Boulangerie
Moderne and Place de l’Estrapade
where Emily lives.

Location: Terra Nera

My secret tip: the restaurant is open

every day for lunch and dinner, except
on Sundays, so why not try it yourself?! I
didn’t eat there yet but it has very good
reviews!

"e Panthéon

Unfortunately, Emily’s boyfriend who

was supposed to come to visit her in
Paris is breaking up with her on the
phone in episode 2 of Emily in Paris
Season 1. While she’s on the phone
talking to him, she is standing in
front of the impressive Panthéon in
the 5th arrondissement near where she
lives. The Panthéon is the Temple of the
French Nation and the Great Men who
have made the history of France! Here
are buried French great writers,
scientists, generals, churchmen or
politicians. You might know some of
them: Voltaire, Jean-Jacques Rousseau,
Emile Zola, Alexandre Dumas, Pierre
and Marie Curie, Simone Veil and lately
Joséphine Baker! The architecture of
the Panthéon is really stunning inside
and outside.

Location: le Panthéon

My secret tip: you can visit the

Panthéon as it’s one of the most
important landmarks in Paris. It’s open
every day and it costs 11,50 €. It’s
recommended to book your ticket in
advance.

Pont Alexandre III

In the 3rd episode of Season 1 of Emily

in Paris, Emily goes to Pont Alexandre
III with her colleagues from Savoir. They
are shooting here a controversial
perfume commercial for De L’Heure by
Maison Lavaux with a naked model
walking on the bridge in the middle of
men in suits.

The Pont Alexandre III was built for the

Exposition Universelle (World’s Fair) of
1900. It’s very elegant with its Art
Nouveau style! It’s one of the most
romantic places in Paris!

Location: Pont Alexandre III

My secret tip: come here at the end of

the day to see the sun setting on the
Seine behind the Eiffel Tower!

La Maison Rose

On the 5th episode of Season 1 of Emily

in Paris, Emily and Mindy enjoy a
drink and dinner at the iconic Maison

Rose restaurant in Montmartre. This
charming restaurant with a pink façade
