PRODUCT LIFE CYCLE MANAGEMENT STATEMENT FOR ROSEMOUNT TANK

GAUGING REX SYSTEM
Emerson has a broad range of products designed to provide best-in-class solutions for our customer’s
application needs. We continue to expand and optimize this product portfolio with the addition of new
technologies and products. Emerson takes every possible step to ensure continuity of spare parts
availability for all the products that are in the current manufacturing cycle. We also maintain and support
those devices that are being superseded by next generation products for as much period as technically
feasible.
The REX system is in “Supported” phase since March 31st, 2015 according to the Rosemount Product
Lifecycle Management Policy. Spare Parts are available until July 1st, 2025. For available antenna parts,
check the latest edition of parts pricelist. After that the REX System and including parts will be in
“Obsolete” phase.

PRODUCTS IN ROSEMOUNT TANK GAUGING SYSTEM

This statement is to inform and clarify the life cycle and support of Rosemount Tank Gauging products.

TankRadar Rex system includes:

• RTG 3900 Transmitter Head Obsolete phase planned for July 1st, 2025.
• Data Acquisition Unit DAU 2100 Obsolete phase planned for July 1st, 2025.
• RDU40 Remote Display Unit Obsolete phase planned for July 1st, 2025.
• MST & WLS Rex versions Obsolete phase planned for July 1st, 2025.
Antennas:
• RTG 3920 Horn Antenna Obsolete March 31st, 2015.
Replace with: 5900S Horn Antenna
• RTG 3930 Parabolic Antenna Obsolete March 31st, 2015.
Replace with: 5900 Parabolic Antenna
• RTG 3940 Still-Pipe Cone Antenna Obsolete December 1st, 2005.
Replace with: New 5900 and Still-Pipe Array antenna is needed.
• RTG 3950 Still-Pipe Array Antenna Obsolete March 31st, 2015.
Replace with: Fixed can be replaced with 5900 Still-Pipe Array Antenna.
Inclined: New 5900 and Still-Pipe Array Antenna is needed.
• RTG 3960 LPG/LNG Antenna Obsolete March 31st, 2015.
Replace with: New 5900 and LPG/LNG Still-Pipe Antenna is needed.
NOTE: Pressure Gauge 6853490-782 is not available due to component obsolescence.

LIFE CYCLE PHASES AND TERMINOLOGY

The life of the product is divided into three phases; Active, Supported and Obsolete. Each phase implicates
different levels of service and support available to the end-user. By defining the different phases, the model
aims to simplify transitions to newer technology and make sure we fulfill end-user expectations. Duration
of each phase may vary between products.
The policy is that we normally guarantee availability of support and spare parts within 10 years from the
date the last system delivery was made. There are however exceptions on the 10 years availability. One
example is that a product or spare part no longer is available due to component obsolescence. In this case
it may be necessary to provide a similar solution to the customer which fulfils his need. Another example
may be that an old product no longer will be produced since there is a new developed product that can do
the same job.
