MICRO-PROJECT PROPOSAL

ELECTRONIC WASTE AND ITS MANAGEMENT

• Aim/Benefits:
The aim of e-waste management is to reduce the environmental and health
impacts of e-waste, as well as to recover valuable materials and energy from it.
Some of the benefits of e-waste management are:
- It prevents the release of toxic substances into the soil, water, and air, which
can harm humans, animals, and plants.
- It reduces the demand for raw materials and energy, which can lower
greenhouse gas emissions and conserve natural resources.
- It creates employment opportunities and income for workers involved in e-
waste collection and recycling.
- It supports innovation and development of new technologies and products that
are more efficient and eco-friendly.

• Course Outcome:
The outcomes of this project are-
1) Apply techniques to reduce environmental pollution.

2) Manage social issues and environmental ethics as lifelong learning.

• Proposed Methodology:
- Conduct a survey of the current e-waste generation and disposal practices in
the target area.
- Identify the main sources and types of e-waste and their environmental and
health impacts.
- Develop a framework for e-waste management that involves stakeholders from
government, industry, civil society and academia.
- Implement pilot projects to test the feasibility and effectiveness of different e-
waste management strategies, such as collection, recycling, reuse and disposal.
- Evaluate the outcomes and challenges of the pilot projects and provide
recommendations for scaling up and improving e-waste management.
