HERE’S the SCOOP

Week of: October 30th - November 3rd

LOOK WHAT WE’RE LEARNING
Writing: We have worked so hard on adding strong leads and endings, dialogue and details to our personal
narratives and are now ready to publish. That will happen next week and we are so excited to be wrapping up this
unit! I’ll be holding onto all of their published work through the year to create a writing portfolio at the end!

Math: We officially finished our first module and all the students were able to demonstrate their understanding
of multiplication and division! I’m so proud of them. Next, we’ll be moving onto time telling, measurement, and
adding/subtracting.

Reading: This week we have implemented our centers-based literacy block and I’ve gotten to meet with my
students in small reading groups. I am so impressed with the independence my students have shown me and I
can’t wait to be meeting with them everyday to push them along with their reading skills!

UPDATES/REMINDERS
1. I haven’t had a chance to thank everyone for meeting with me during our fall parent/teacher conference. It was
such a pleasure to chat about your wonderful kiddos!

2. There is no school Friday, November 10th in observance of Veteran’s Day.

3. Pleasure be sure your child comes in with a snack everyday and appropriate cold weather gear!
