is as follows:
Section A Design Basis
Section B Introduction
Section C Process Details
Section D Technical Details and Scope of Supply

We hope the above is in line with your requirement. Please revert for any further
information / clarifications.
Thanking you,
ForAkshaya InnoTech
1. The MBR technology aims to remove organic compounds (COD and BOD),
suspended matter, nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorous) and bio-accumulative or bio-
degradable micro pollutants.
2. The biological conversion processes are the same as those described for active
sludge systems for COD removal, nitrifying active sludge and nitrifying/denitrifying active
sludge.
3. The presence of membranes ensures complete retention of the biology and for
complete removal of the suspended matter
4. Because bacteria are kept longer in the reactor, the likelihood is greater that difficult to
degrade or larger components are degraded. Compared to a conventional system, the
removal of suspended matter almost always results in a low COD value in the effluent.
The absolute COD value is determined by the quality of the influent.

Section B
Treatment scheme:
SCOPE OF WORK
The proposed system for treatment of the effluent is based on Natural Biological
augmentation based on a fixed film bioreactor which works on a very low power
requirement. It works on a combination of Biological phenomena which include solids to bio
gasification in a primary settling medium, followed by an aerobic biological oxidation,
clarification and polishing by natural filters of sand and fibers. The treatment will be done at
the rate of 45 Kilo Liters per day.
The system includes Pretreatment of effluent using a primary clarifier, Oil and grease
skimmer, MBR based Biological treatment of the sewage, and reuse for gardening or
washing. Civil works include a collection tank of 50 KL, and 50 KL Final Treated water tank.
STP shall be compact, have minimum Moving Parts and be odor free.
The microbial growth in this stage is mostly suspended growth in MBR tank.
The blower is a low power consuming, high efficiency equipment, and the aeration grid is
a non-clog type system.
Collection cum equalization tank in RCC is placed below the ground level.
All other tanks of STP in MS Prefabricated structure can be built above the ground as
required.
A metered dosing system is provided to have better control on dosing rate and to avoid
the wastage of chemical.
All electro-mechanical equipment’s are proposed with standby units. Pumps, blowers
shall be operational in auto mode through level controllers, timers etc. for easier
operation.
Section C
Treatment Process:
(a) Screen Chamber: The sewage from the unit shall pass through the manually cleaned
SS – 304 Screen (02 no) with different pore sizes to remove suspended materials from
the sewage.
(b) Oil & Grease Trap: Here oil and grease present in the sewage will be trapped and
taken out manually. It will be done in a baffled tank put below the inward water level.
(c) Equalization Tank: The screened sewage shall be collected by gravity into the
equalization tank. A customized consortia of anaerobic microbes which convert the
oil, grease, fats, organic matter, fecal solids into methane, which can be harvested or
flared.
(d) MBR Tank:The Sewage then flows into a MBBR tank where suspended as well as
fixed growth of microbial biomass converts the remaining organic matter into
carbondioxide and water. As most of the growth in this aeration system is attached
growth very little sludge is formed. Also the sludge formed is from the sloughed off
biofilms after maturation stage. The biologically treated sewage will then over flow
into a secondary settling tank for the separation of biomass from the clear supernatant.
(e) Tertiary Treatment: After the biological treatment, the treated effluent will be
collected into treated water collection tank. The treated effluent will then be fed to Dual
media filter & activated carbon filter for the further removal of residual Suspended solids,
BOD/COD, color, odor etc. The filtered clear effluent will then re-used in secondary
application as mentioned.
(f) Sludge handling: The primary & secondary sludge removed from tube settler tank shall
be taken on Sludge Holding tank and then pumped to sludge dewatering bags.
(h) Sludge Dewatering System – Sludge collected in the Secondary clarifier shall be fed to a
sludge dewatering system consisting of bag filters where water content is reduced to less
than 30% in the sludge. Dried sludge can be use as manure and supernatant can be taken
beck in collection tank.
