The Museums and Galteries Month (MGM) is observed and celebrated every month
of Octo$r of every year pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 798, s,. 1991, to
underscore the irnportance of initiating national consciousness and pride in our rich
Filipino culture and heritage symbolizing the aspirations of the nations, expressed in
all media of art, as well as, historical and religious artifacts. This rich Filipino cultural
heritage embodies the aspiration of the nation. The observance recognizes that these
cultural and art forms are necessary for nation-building and shaping national destiny.

For this year's celebration, MGM theme is "Exhibits and Reflection: Opportunities
for the New World", that will encompass the role of the museums and galleries in
showcasing art forms, as an avenue to interpret various facets of humanity. From
intrapersonal to global issues, museums and galleries have been host to various
microcosm that serve as catalysts for human beings from all walks of life, providing
chances to reflect, restart and redirect themselves to a better future.

To further promote awareness and increase participation of the general public during
the celebration, the DILG Regional Directors and Local Chief Executives are
encouraged to:

1. Post and share the 2023 MGM advocacy materials including the 2023 MGM
Facebook Banners and 2023 MGM Calendar of Activities in their respective
website and social media accounts;

2 Participate in the online campaign thread about the 2023 MGM Celebration by
sharing heiltage-related content including photos, videos, news features and

3. Organize own MGM activrties and participate in heritage-related events such

as webinars, online workshops, online lectures, and online exhibits,

4. Submit 2023 MGM Activity Proposal Form to the MGM Secretariat for inclusion
in the 2023 MGM Calendar of Activities (The 2023 MGM Activity Proposal Form
and other reference materials can be accessed through this link.

Souvenir Program on or before November 14,2023.

6 Submit a 1$second video (in MP4) format, 1920x1080px resotution) of the

highlights of your event to be used as potential content for the MG Culmination
Video on or before October 30, ZO2g.

All DILG Regional Directors and the BARMM Minister of Local Government are hereby
directed to cause the immediate and widest dissemination of this Memorandum
Circular to all local government units within their respec;tive regional assignments
