Hello RJHS Families, August 22, 2023

As we get ready for the return of students on September 5, here are a few information items
and reminders to help our students, and parents, have a smooth start to the 2023/24 school
year.

❖ Student schedules should be available on PowerSchool by the end of the day on

Wednesday August 30. If you can’t log in to PowerSchool, a schedule can be available at
the office on the first day of school.

❖ Please check the website for school supply lists.

❖ Students need to bring clothes to change into for gym, their PE teachers will talk more
about this with their students.

❖ Volleyball tryouts will be happening right away. Students are responsible to listen for
announcements and sign up accordingly if they are interested.

❖ There will be a number of forms that parents need to fill out and sign at the beginning of
the year. We are going to try and use digital forms as much as possible. You should have
input your current contact information when you registered your child online in the
spring. Please make sure this information is current.

❖ Students are encouraged to use the lunch hour as a break from the school. As such, we
encourage students to go home for lunch if at all possible. There is a room provided for
students who must stay at the school to eat. Once students have had time to eat they
will go outside where they may choose to leave the school grounds. Please contact the
office if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s lunch hour routine.

❖ Change to the Wednesday lunch hour: The lunch break on Wednesday will be 12
minutes longer than the other days. This extra time is to help accommodate teachers
meeting in collaborative teams. A complete bell schedule can be found on the RJHS
website.

❖ To help cut down on the call volume to our front office, please use the RJHS Website to
find information about upcoming events, bell times, athletics, etc.
