1. Special tools

- Service PC with communication cable


- Service software version 1.0
- Thermometer
- Electric drill
- Drill, 5,5 mm
- (Soldering unit, when exchanging housing user panel)

2. Manpower

Usually 1 engineer with LithoTron experience and


ultrasound option training.

Pre-mounted system 1 engineer 8 hours


Not pre-mounted system 1 engineer 12 hours

3. Cabling Therapy carriage

• Switch the system off


• Open the cover of the therapy carriage at the
backside of the user panel.

There you see the premounted cables for the


ultrasound option ULS 132. The cables are labeled
like:
Cabinet V - Therapy carriage
Cable # 1 VBX 50 - VGX 50
Cable # 2 VBX 52 - VOX 2
Cable # 3 VBX 54 - VGX 54
Cable # 4 VBX 55 - VOX1

LithoTron with lower Serial# 33 have no


preassembled
cables. The service engineer has to adapt this plugs
and sockets to the cables.
Cable #1:
VBX 50 with SUB-D 15 pol. Plug (Screw)
VGX 50 with SUB-D 15 pol. Socket (Nut)
Cable #2:
VBX52 withSUB-D 15 pol. Socket (Screw)
VOX 2 with SUB-D 15 pol. Plug (Screw)
Cable #3:
VBX 54 with SUB-D 15 pol. Socket (Screw)
VGX 54 with SUB-D 15 pol. Plug (Screw)

4. Mounting the Holder Reference Transmitter (VM) to Housing User Panel

• Open with a M 8 Allen key the screws of the user panel and lift it upwards.
• Disconnect all cables from the user panel and store it safety ( ESD -Damage !)
• Open (newest version of the housing user panel) the front cover with premanifactured holes.
• Attach directly the holder reference transmitter to the housing user panel.
• Replace the housing user panel, if there are no premanifactured holes and follow the next steps.
• Open the 4 screws that fixate the housing of the user panel.
• Disconnect all soldered cables from the housing
Lemosa connectors VGX4, VGX6.
• Unscrew the two Lemosa connectors (left side).
• Mount the new premounted housing user panel with
holder reference transmitter to the c<<<olumne.
• Fixate the housing with the 4 screws.
• Mount Lemosa connectors to the new housing.
• Solder the cables VGX4 and VGX6 like this

In former versions of the LithoTron the holes in


the housing for attachment holder reference
transmitter are missing (see right drawing):
You need: -4 x Ø 7 mm holes
-large hole with 60 mm length.

From the holder reference transmitter into the housing


user panel running the following cables:
-6 cables to MDB-module
• Wire cables down to the IFU at the side of MDB-
modul.
-1 cable to VGX50 (SUB-D connector)
-1 cable to VGX54 (SUB-D connector)
-1 ground cable
• Wire other cables down to the IFU at the side of
the MIB

housing user panel.

• Aligne the cable length so you can rotate the


microphone holder 180° at the endposition of
the OP-rail.
• Fixate the cable grip.

5. Mounting the Interface Unit (IFU)

• To mount the IFU into the therapy carriage, drill


two 4.2 mm holes in the basement of the
columne.

• Open the cable binder and pull the cable to the


frontside so they can`t be damaged.
• Mount the IFU inside the columne of the therapy
carriage. Use a Allen key for M5 screw with
nut.

• Fixate the safety toggling cable at the cable grip


of the hand key. Use lower M4 x 12 screw.
• Mount the ground cabel of the IFU-Rack to the
earth terminal rail VGX5 at the bottom of the
columne.

• Plug in the marker cables in the MDB. Check the


correct order.

• Fixate the marker cable on the top right side of


the columne with a cable binder.

the right side chassi of the IFU.
• Plug in the SUB-D connectors for VOX1, VOX2

-First ferrit core to major cable (1).
-Second ferrit core without ground cable (2).
-Third ferrit core without ground and marker cable,
just the microphone cables (3).

• Plug the microphone cable to the DABE. check


the correct order of all microphone cables.
• Push the IFU to the backside of the columne.
• Close the cover of the columne ans fixate the
cover with the screws.

• Mount the US- transceiver holder to the OP-rail


• Plug the Lemosa connector to VGX9, at the
bottom of the user panel.

• Connect the US-unit SD 360 (Backside of SD 360


, RS 422 interface) with the connection cable to
VGX8, at the bottom of the user panel.
• Mount the US- transceiver to the US - transceiver
holder.

6. Preparing the V- cabinet

Replacement of the Connection Borad (COB)

• Switch the system off.


• Remove all module from control unit VB 104 112 120 128 136 144 154 162 170 178

• Disconnect all cables plugs from the COB Reset Reset

backside of VB).
• Unscrew and remove the complete unit VB from RB2 RB2 MCB EIB

• Unscrew the to siderail and fix it to the new unit.
• Place the new unit (VB) from cabinet V and fix it.
• Replace all plugs including the new VBX50 , 52,
APB PS2 PS2 PS1 MPB CIB ADB RB1
54, 55 to the COB. green

• Connect the new VBX50, VBX52, VBX54 and VBX 55 cables to


the connection board.
• Feed the new power cable 230V, from the terminal strip (VC) to
the backpanel of the unit (VB, PS2), through the cable conduit.
• Connect the cable to VCX as follows :
L1 = VCX3-4
N = VCX3-5
PE = VCX3-6
• Insert the new fuse 1.6AT in the fuse holder VCX3-F16
