SOPY 3025: Principles and Theories of Social Policy

Suggested Essay Topics

1. What are the aims of social policy? How far has social policy in your selected
region/state achieved the aims of social policy? Critically discuss with social
policy examples of your selected region/state.

2. How far has social policy in Hong Kong been redistributive? Critically discuss
with social policy examples.

3. Select one social issue and discuss how it is increasingly perceived to be global.
Do you agree that international organizations make a significant impact on global
regulation or global rights in your selected social issue? Critically discuss with
examples to support.

(1) Choose any one of the above topics.
(2) Length of the paper: Maximum 2000 words (excluding references; at least 8
proper academic references should be included)
(3) Use of language: English
(4) Follow strictly the APA format on citations and referencing. Plagiarism is strictly
prohibited.
(5) Deadline for submission: Last session in this course - 30 November 2018 (Fri).
