Henry Sy, Sr. is a Filipino Chinese business tycoon and entrepreneur, most
famous for founding the SM Malls, the Philippines’ largest group of malls. Aside
from the mall industry, Henry also owns numerous companies in the areas of real
estate, banking, education, mining, retailing, and hospitality, “He made his billions
working hard, first selling shoes, to build a current conglomerate of giant malls,
real estate, banks, financial services, insurance, retail, and a dozen of other
businesses,” Henry Sy was “definitely a mover and a game changer of the
Philippine economy. ”Henry Sy was the richest Filipino on the Forbes list of world
billionaires. He started selling shoes to the masses and made it big in many
directions of business. As a result, his company is a big presence in the Philippine
economy today.
John D. Rockefeller was born July 8, 1938, in New York to William Avery and
Eliza Davison Rockefeller. William Avery Rockefeller was a traveling salesman
whose work eventually took the family to Cleveland, Ohio in 1853.
While the creation of one of the largest companies in U.S History is quite an
achievement, Rockefeller's greatest accomplishments are in association with the
many charities and philanthropies he created. In 1912, John D.
Rockefeller had a financial value of $900,000,000. Upon his death on May 23,
1937, only $26,410,837 of Rockefeller's wealth remained.
1890, Rockefeller donated $600,000 to start the University of
Chicago, eventually donating $35 million in total.
1901, The Rockefeller Medical Research Institute (Rockefeller
University) was established, which went on to develop vaccines for
meningitis
In 1903, the General Education Board (later Rockefeller Foundation) was
formed, which built high schools and provided free professional advice for
improving education and instruction.
1918 and 1921, he funded studies at Johns Hopkins University and
Harvard to improve public health issues, spending about $25 million
on universities and libraries
While Rockefeller's methods of amassing his vast fortune were controversial,
Rockefeller used a great deal of his wealth to improve society.

Bill Gates was born to prominent lawyer William H Gates II and his
wife Mary Maxwell Gates on the 28th of October 1955 in Seattle,
Washington. At the age of 13, Gates joined the Lakeside School, where he would
befriend Paul Allen and developed an interest in computers.
Encouraged to be a lawyer, Bill joined Harvard choosing a pre-law major before
being drawn toward his love for computers. He would establish Micro-Soft in
1975, launching the career of one of the most prominent businessmen of the late
20th and 21 centuries. Bill Gates would become the richest man in the world and
would contribute substantially as a philanthropist through the Bill & Melinda
Gates Foundation.

Since then, Gates has been on the top or near the top of Forbes’
400 lists of the world’s wealthiest people.

Foundation’
Foundations have well over $30 billion to support charitable
initiatives in areas of global health and education
