This is your chance to really tell us your story, your reasons for doing this course, and give us your
direct perspective on who you are and what you want to do. Please take time to read these
questions and formulate answers that are a true reflection of you.
1) How did you get introduced to theatre and what is it about theatre that inspires you
and holds your attention?
- I have done several plays in my college, and a few short films as well. I watch films, theatre
and interviews of great actors. Keep their advice, methods in my mind and invest my heart
and soul into the preparation. The love and interest of the process drives me to do so.
But sometimes I miss having a technique with me, a craft or a method that can be so
strong that I can pull off any scene, any emotion at any point of time. To Learn the
Technique and Craft, I want to get admission in Drama School Mumbai.
3) We want to understand who you are as an artist as well as a human being. Please
share a story of a moment in your life that stayed with you and defined who you are.

- This happened in August, 2019. I was in my third year of engineering. We were preparing a
play to be performed in College Dramatics Club Orientation for a new Batch. I was playing
the protagonist in the play. The director of the play was a very dear person of mine, a
college senior and a mentor as well. But during that time there was something not right
with him, I was expecting him to be more professional for the play than he was. So I
decided to confront him and say this as it was impacting our play.
He didn't like me pointing out his mistake or he might not have admitted that. Whatever
was the case it started impacting the space during the evening rehearsal. We had the final
performance the next day. Being unsure and insecure of how we will perform together the
next day, I went to him, said sorry and apologized for my mistake. He hugged me and we
cracked the show the next day.
But I apologized falsely that day. I knew very clearly that I had nothing to apologize for. The
mistake was not mine. But still I said sorry because that was the only way to let the
performance happen in a positive way. I am proud of myself for that day as I kept the Play
above myself and anything. And I believe that's what performer should do.
- There was this story in my class 10th English Textbook with the title Patol Babu, Filmstar. At that
time I was a great fan of Bollywood mainstream films. And I used to like entertaining, masala
movies a lot. Also the songs of Hindi films were another reason to love those films. I had an image
of how a film actor must be. What could have been their life.
Then suddenly one day Patol Babu chapter started in the class. The central character of the story,
Patol Babu was an actor and yet another simple man. He was offered a role of a pedestrian who
collides with the central character (Hero) of the film. He had one word dialogue and yet he
improvised the scene with a newspaper and prepared the scene with his heart and soul. After the
scene when the film unit looked out for him for payment, he had already left the place. He was so
satisfied with his performance that he felt that taking money would undermine his efforts.
This chapter changed the perspective on how I looked at actors and performances. I don't know
exactly but somewhere from inside I also wanted to act someday in my life and this chapter was
such a revelation for me. I hardly remember any chapter from my school textbook but this one
always remained with me.
