ACTION PLAN

Vision: To make USAG the most relevant, attractive, and effective students' association in
Ghana.

Mission: To supervise the effective and efficient organization of the day-to-day activities of
USAG by promoting inclusiveness and uniting the various institutions under USAG.

Leadership, it is said, is everything. Indeed, the rise or fall of every organization, community,
and system depends on the quality of leadership. The effectiveness of leadership, however, is
best measured by its ability to confront difficult and complex situations with good policies as
and when they emerge. Below are my well-thought-out policies in my bid to become the
Coordinating Secretary of USAG:

1. USAG Regional Town Hall Meeting

Over the years, there has been a realization that SRC executives within their respective regions
do not get to know each other, both at Senates and even at Congress. This is very worrying,
especially because they are unable to represent the same voice at senates. Hence, what I wish
to do to curb this issue is to introduce what I term the USAG Regional Town Hall meetings.
These meetings would bring together all executives within our respective regions to familiarize
themselves with each other and discuss problems within their respective regions even before
presenting them at senates or congress. I believe this will help foster unity amongst our
institutions and deal with problems at the regional level before they reach Senate.

This will be organized in every region within the country. However, member institutions within
the 5 Northern regions will have a joint meeting as well as the two Volta regions.

2. Effective and Efficient Organization of Programs and Meetings

Since the role of the Coordinating Secretary involves organizing events or programs for the
association, I will do so efficiently to make USAG more attractive. Venues for programs will be
selected based on the impact of the program on students, taking into consideration the core
mandates of the institution. This will improve the number of students participating in USAG
programs.

Venues for programs or projects must be carefully selected always. Selection should be done on
the basis of the member institution’s mandate or vision. This will help increase the importance
of the project or program to students of the member institution, hence increase student
participation in USAG activities or programs.
3. Ensuring Early Collection of Dues

Resources play a vital role in ensuring the successful organization of programs. Hence,
organizing programs or implementing policies becomes difficult when dues are not collected on
time. I will work hand in hand with the other executives to ensure the early collection of dues
by visiting all institutions and emphasizing the need to make timely payments.

All member institutions must be visited, where executives are to meet up with the
management and SRC executives of these member institutions to lay out the action plan of the
association and the need for their institutions to make early payment of dues to help facilitate
these plans.

4. Sustainability of Policies

Policies often fade away after their launch, which becomes a concern for some of our
institutions as they are burdened with the responsibility of implementing such policies on their
own, often with limited resources. We must ensure that projects or programs are sustained in
order to achieve the goals of their implementation.

Projects or programs that require continuous implementation must not be abandoned after its
first implementation.

I firmly believe that these policies or action plan, if implemented, will help USAG become the
most relevant, attractive, and effective students' association in Ghana. May God bless USAG
and Ghana. Thank you.

Enoch Gbogbo,

USAG Coordinating Secretary.
