How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:

✘ Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the student and mostly
practice based.

✘ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic of
learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facilitates
the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems and completing projects to
demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared outside of the classroom.
(Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing
it via an outside source.)

guide. Remember, this lesson MUST facilitate STUDENT-USE of an audio or video tool to
demonstrate their learning on a topic of your choice:
I planned a lesson to teach students the 4 parts of a flower. My podcast sets them up to think about
what the 4 parts are. They are to think and ask a family member about what the 4 parts might be. I
will make students be aware of their goal by telling them they need to be able to label the 4 parts.
Students will be able to use a khoot game I made for technology. The game will not let me save and
upload because I am using the free version and to use audio and pictures as answers you must
upgrade and pay for Kahoot. The game consists of 4 multiple choice questions with pictures as the
answers. The questions are very short and asks, “which picture shows…” and then the answer is the
4 parts of the flower, so they choose what it asks for. I will conclude my lesson by asking students to
draw me one part of a flower on their personal white board. This will show me who knows a part
and who needs more help.
Managing student learning: This game will allow students to become active social learners because
they can play this game as many times as they need and really get active in the learning with friends.
I can set a timer on the questionnaire for students that need it or want it. I will set a timer for
students when concluding my lesson. If the students have questions, they can ask a 3 friends before
they come and ask me.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection: Be sure to mention one specific UDL principle you
are focused on in this lesson – Multiple Means of Engagement, Multiple Means of Representation,
or Multiple Means of Action & Expression.
Action and expression suggest giving kids more than one way to interact with the material and to
show what they learned. They can play the game, I will go over the material, they will have a labeling
activity and they will show what they have learned at the end.
Reflection:
I think the lesson will impact students learning by helping them learn in multiple ways. They get to
see the different parts, write the different parts, and draw different parts of the flower. This is lots of
different ways one can learn. I look forward to allowing them to play the game I made on khoot after
teaching them about the parts first. I think that it is a fun and interactive for them.
