STANDARD TRIAL PIT NOC CONDITIONS:

1) A separate Construction NOC request with construction method statement including plan
and cross section drawings detailing trial pit information along with a verified copy of trial
pit record(s) must be submitted for DUSUP approval prior to the commencement of any
construction work. Elevations and coordinates as per DM datum must be included in the
drawing.
2) Construction NOC submission for the crossing hydrocarbon pipelines and corridor by
horizontal directional drilling (HDD) method must include a cross section (profile)
drawing prepared as per the DUSUP standard drawing template. For the copy of DUSUP
standard drawing template submit your request to email: DUSUP-NOC@dusup.ae
3) Trial trenches which exceed 2.0 (two) meters in depth are excluded from this NOC and a
separate technical submission with detailed method statement for such activity is required.
4) Dewatering works are excluded from this NOC and a separate technical submission with
detailed method statement for such activity is required.
5) Shoring, step cutting (battering) or sloping must be provided for the excavations deeper
than 1.2 meters to eliminate the risk of cave-in or trench collapse. If the soil type of
excavation is not confirmed the soil must have a slope of 1 ½ horizontal to 1 vertical (34
degrees).
6) Unrestricted safe means of access and exit for the trench must be provided to the
satisfaction of DUSUP representative.
7) Approved barriers must be provided at a minimum 1.0 meters distance from the zone of
influence or angle of repose line of excavation and no vehicle or storing of excavated
material are permitted between the barrier and the edge of excavation.
8) Pipeline berm or pipeline facilities affected by the work must be reinstated to the original
condition to the satisfaction of pipeline representative.
9) Existing hydrocarbon pipelines must not be left exposed overnight.
10) Access for pipeline patrolling and maintenance activities must be maintained at all times
both during and after the work.
11) Any changes or deviation of works from the submitted drawings/documents will require
separate review and approval from DUSUP.
