NAVIGATION
‘alt’ (opt) and mouse scroll wheel = scroll left and right quickly (one page at a time)
A B C D E F G = corresponding pitches
hold ‘ctrl’ (⌘) when typing the letters f p m n r and s to produce ‘music notation’ text
hold ‘ctrl’ ‘shift’ ‘alt’ (⌘ shift opt) when typing the letter z to produce ‘music notation’ text
‘ctrl’ (⌘) ‘shift’ ‘B’ = add additional bar at selected position in score
‘R’ = directly copy and paste selected material into following passage
‘alt’ (opt) + click = copies and pastes a selected passage whereever is clicked
SELECTION HOTKEYS
‘ctrl’ (⌘) ‘shift’ + arrow keys = expand selected area one bar at a time
‘ctrl’ (⌘) ‘shift’ ‘A’ = select all other similar objects to the object selected
‘ctrl’ ‘shift’ ‘alt’ (⌘ shift opt) + numbers 1 to 4 = select voices 1 to 4 from stave
‘ctrl’ ‘alt’ ‘shift’ (⌘ opt shift) ‘B’ = select bottom note of chord
‘ctrl’ (⌘) + arrow left or right = jump to first note of next or previous bar

‘ctrl’ ‘alt’ (⌘ opt) + up or down arrow = move stave up and down in bigger intervals
‘alt’ (opt) ‘shift’ + up or down arrow = move stave up and down independent of other staves
‘ctrl’ ‘alt’ ‘shift’ (⌘ opt shift) + up or down arrow = move stave up and down independent of other
staves in bigger intervals
‘alt’ (opt) ‘shift’ + left or right arrow = expand and contract note spacing
CUSTOMIZING HOTKEYS
My own customized hotkey system (particularly good for keyboards without a keypad):
‘V’ = rest
‘L’ = sharp
apostrophe ( ‘ ) = flat
‘U’ = accent
‘I’ = staccato
‘O’ = legato
‘ctrl’ ‘alt’ ‘shift’ (⌘ opt shift) ‘T’ = open ‘text styles’ window
