Week2 Assignment Questions - ED101
Week2 Assignment Questions - ED101
1. What are the implications of these developmental tasks to your role as a facilitator of learning? Pay
particular attention to the stages that correspond to school age.
2. Let’s have a “throwback” of your childhood days. Were you able to acquire the developmental tasks
expected? What facilitated your acquisitions of the ability to perform such tasks? Write your
reflections.
As I look back to my childhood days, I can say that I was able to acquire those expected developmental
tasks for me, with the help and unconditional support of my family. However, it was never a perfect
journey and many factors influenced in every development stage of my life.
At the start of my early childhood age, I lost my mother. Maybe because I cannot clearly understand yet
the situation that time, it did not extremely affect my early and middle childhood development. As far as
I remember, I was still able to enjoy that stages of my life. I remember fondly how I play with my friends
and enjoyed going to school with them. But during my adolescence stage, having no mother around me
greatly affected me while acquiring my developmental tasks. I remember that I sometimes suffer from
low self-esteem and social anxiety. I am just grateful that my father and grandparents are always there
for me during that difficult stage of my life.
I became what I am now because I had received all the support and guidance I need while growing up. I
successfully completed my studies and had my own career. And now in my middle adulthood stage, I am
enjoying life with my beautiful family. And continue doing my best in achieving more developmental
tasks in the next stages of my life.
3. As future teacher/educator, how will you facilitate your students’ acquisition of those
developmental tasks?
As a future educator, I must have knowledge first about students’ specific developmental stage, recent
developmental successes, and upcoming developmental challenges for me to decide what to teach and
how to teach it.
I have to help students who are struggling with learning and adjustment with their developmental tasks.
For me to do this I have to be patient and make effort to consistently communicate with them. I will
continue motivate them during their acquisition of their developmental tasks.
Also, I have to consider the individual differences of the learners as it will help me (as a teacher) to
carefully plan an efficient and effective learning-teaching process.
