nRoof Catchment System

To support and validate the capability of the Proposed Solution resolving the water supply for
Punduhan ng mga Dumagat, Brgy. San Mateo, Norzagaray, Bulacan, the researchers collected data
from an existing patent to serve as a basis for its existence. This will be considered an effective solution
for resolving complex engineering problems in a selected area.

Through conducting research, the closest proposed solution was entitled: Rainwater Harvesting
it was released by the European Patent Office, invented by Nigel O'driscoll. This invention relates to
water conservation and to a system used to harvest rainwater that can be used to supplement the main
water supply for domestic use.

A system for harvesting the rainwater collected from the roof of a building, comprising:

Rainwater collectors are connected to guttering that is attached to the roof, each of which
includes a sensor for determining when a certain amount of rainwater has been collected; a storage
tank; and a feed system connecting the rainwater collectors to the storage tank, where the feed system
includes a common pumping system connected to the collectors and means for operating the common
pumping system so that water can be transferred from the collectors to the storage tank. The typical
pumping system consists typically of a single pump, with the addition of a filter being optional. You can
put in a manifold, which is usually put upstream of the pumping system. This is where all the water from
the collectors is put together and then sent to the storage tank.

A further advantage of the present invention is that the new system can be easily installed, and
it can use an existing rain gutter without needing roof modifications, underground wells, or the
installation of large reservoirs. This eliminates the need for costly and time-consuming construction
projects.

Moreover, the proposed solution has more advantages than the closest solution. The proposed
solution will no longer use a sensor for collecting water. Instead, the first flash of water will be put where
the first impure rainwater is flushed away when it has just rained. This is done to eliminate or reduce the
contaminants in the rainwater harvesting system.
