HYPHOTHESIS OF THE STUDY
H0: There is no significant difference between the effects of oregano as an insecticide and a control
treatment on the number and type of pests on eggplant plants, and on the yield and quality of the
eggplants produced.
H1: There is a significant difference between the effects of oregano as an insecticide and a control

Statement of the problem
To what extent does the chemical insecticide and oregano leaves as an insecticide differ in terms
of their effectiveness to kill insects?
How may the oregano leaves as an insecticide affect eggplants be described in terms of their:
2.1 How long it will take to repel insects; and
2.2 Number of insects repelled
How may the oregano leaves be described in terms of their ability to kill different types of
insects?

Objective of the study

To determine the difference between the chemical insecticide and oregano leaves as an
insecticide in terms of their effectiveness to kill insects.
To describe the influence of oregano leaves as an insecticide on eggplants in terms of:
2.1 How long it will take to repel insects; and
2.2 Number of insects repelled
To describe the oregano leaves in terms of their ability to kill different types of insects

Scope and delimitation of the study

The main objective of this study is to determine the effectiveness of oregano leaves as an
insecticide to eggplant. The researchers will be testing it out to three (3) different plant of
eggplant; first is without any chemical or oregano insecticide, second is the eggplant with
chemical insecticide and the third one is eggplant with oregano insecticide.
The experimentation that will be performed is to discover the effectiveness of oregano as
insecticide.
