Empowering Unemployed Job Seekers: A Localized Matching Platform

Background of the study

In this research project, the aim is to address the issue of unemployment in Cebu City. This problem affects a
diverse range of individuals, including experienced professionals, middle-aged workers, and students. The goal
is to develop a user-friendly platform designed to cater to the specific needs of local job seekers.

Goal of the Study:

The primary objective is to create a localized job matching platform that connects job seekers with job
recruiters based on their characteristics and geographic location. This platform enables job seekers to create
profiles and search for jobs that match their profiles while also sharing their information with job recruiters. Job
recruiters can post available jobs or search for job seekers based on their profiles. The platform will provide job
recruiters with results by ranking job seekers or displaying them on a map based on their proximity to available
jobs. When a mutual match occurs, users can communicate online and arrange interviews.

Targeted Audience:

1. Elder Job Seekers: Cebu City has a pool of experienced professionals looking for job opportunities. The
platform will cater to this group, helping them connect with employers who value their experience.
2. Middle-Aged Job Seekers: Those in the middle of their careers looking for better jobs. The platform will
assist them in finding suitable jobs that match their skills and experiences.
3. Students and Recent Graduates: The platform aims to support students and recent graduates in finding part-
time jobs, internships, or entry-level positions that align with their skills and career goals.
