In reference to your AOM 2020-05 (19) dated October 23, 2020, with subject “Audit of
Fuel Consumption of Government Vehicles”; when I entered in public service as Punong
Barangay, I already know that everything in me, including my personal resources, may be used
to serve and help my constituents. Since the barangay doesn’t have much available vehicle (for
movement of people), I volunteered some of my vehicles to be used by the barangay
personnel.

Instead of the barangay procuring vehicles, I, “temporarily” lend my vehicles to the

barangay, the fuel efficient vehicles like Toyota Wigo and Suzuki Jimny which only have 1.0 and
1.5 engines. I also lend and committed 1 ambulance for priority use of senior citizens, however,
due to nature of use and expectation that the ambulance will be exposed to accidents and
abrupt wear and tear, I put it into MOA that the barangay should also shoulder the repair in
case it breaks, not just the fuel. As for the other vehicles, it is already okay in my part to
shoulder the repair, but not the fuel when they use it.

I really thank your office that you show a lot of concern with the barangay resources
also. I am with you in ensuring that these resources will benefit my constituents, maraming
salamat po talaga. Therefore, I will abide by your observation and we will update the list of
vehicles authorized to be fuelled by the barangay, as well as ensure that the use of fuels and
vehicles are properly documented and ticketed.

Again give us the chance to learn and correct from our mistakes, maraming salamat po
sa inyong pag-mamalasakit.
