Learning Standards/Indicators:

1. Tell the main idea, analyze the essence, conclude and express opinions from reading
feature articles and materials for entertainment purpose. (Strand 1.1 M6/2, Strand 2.2

2. Speak and write to ask and give information/data; express opinions about various
matters/news/situations that are heard appropriately. (Strand 1.1 M6/2, Strand 2.1 M6/1)
3. Analyze and express opinions about incidents in the local area and society. (Strand 1.1,
Strand 1.2, Strand 1.3)
4. Use the language in classroom and school conversation (Strand 1.2, Strand 1.3)
5. Use the foreign language in searching for/conducting research, summarizing and giving
opinions on data/information from various learning sources. (Strand 3.1, Strand 4.1,

Course Description:

In English Reading and Writing, the students will study the principles of Reading and
Writing, the use of the foreign language in expressing ideas and regarding to text and non-
text issues from various sources; use the knowledge of technology in search and research;
asking and giving information; explain, compare and summarize ideas; poetry or short
movies by using the concept of the foreign language with pleasure; participate in activities;
compare and use the foreign language learned with proper judgment; see the importance of
leaning the foreign language in expressing knowledge to other countries for use in other
societies and occupation; able to use the foreign language in various types of communication

in school or in other learning areas; the use of the foreign language appropriate to the Thai
and foreign cultures which is the basic further knowledge and occupation.

Use the methodologies of the foreign language, that is reading, writing,


communication, search and research information, knowledge; working in groups, process of
problem solving, developing thinking skills and practice in various situations.

To have the knowledge, understanding in reading, writing and analyze by using the
foreign language in different situations, have the ability and skill, and have the desired
characteristics of the learners on every age group as specified by the Ministry of Education.

Course Objectives:

1. To be able to have the knowledge, understanding and skills in listening and speaking
of the English language appropriate to various opportunities and situations then apply
in their daily activities.
2. To be able to have the communication skills of the English language, explain/discuss
similarities and differences in languages and cultures between the native speakers and
those of the Thais; use technology in searching for information with justification and
creativeness; link the knowledge with other learning fields and use the English
language or further education and occupation.
3. To be able to follow the Desired Characteristics for Learners in every age group,
emphasizing on the learners as specified by the Ministry of Education.

Criterion for Incomplete Grade:

1. The students should have points before the Midterm Examination of 65% or more.
2. The students should have points from Midterm Examination of 65% or more.
3. The students should have points after the Midterm Examination of 65% or more.
4. The students should pass the Desired Characteristics of the Learners as specified by
the Ministry of Education.

Criterion for Assessment and Evaluation:

Ratio of Points/Scores: In between terms = 80 : 20

The scores in between terms 80 Points can be specified as follows:

3. After Midterm Examination 30 Points
4. Final Examination 20 Points
