In what ways is your family important to you?

My mom’s and dad’s families are from very different regions in my country. My dad’s
from Kayin State where different cultures and traditions exist compared to where my
mom’s from, an old-fashioned village with very religious and gossipy people. Yet, they
somehow met because of the inevitable fate, combining a large family.
Sadly, my dad passed away two years ago, leaving me closer to my mom’s family.
Nevertheless, in family gatherings, we enjoy watching television, making dinner
together, and having an amusing party that I am pretty fond of.
Even though every family member treats me nicely, I’d say my grandma is my
favourite. She has been taking care of me since I was a baby. Until these days, she still
cooks nice, lovely meals for me every time we are in touch.
I can firmly say that my family is very important to me. Without my mom, I wouldn’t
know how to be ambitious, cunning, and hardworking. Also, I take after her. She is also
the main person in my life to support me financially. Other family members are always
there for me as well. I became who I am today because of my family.
