BAKING SODA AND VINEGAR

BALLOON EXPERIMENT
I.OBJECTIVES:
The project's objective is to demonstrate the potency of the gas created when
vinegar and baking soda are combined. The intention is for the gas produced to
inflate the balloon.

II.MATERIALS:
•Baking soda
•Vinegar
• Water
• Balloons
•Funnel/bottle

III.PROCEDURES:
1.The empty pop bottle should be filled with two tablespoons of baking soda.
2.add one tablespoon of vinegar to the balloon.
3. Place 1 tbs, 3 tbs, and 5 tbs. in three various balloons.
4.The balloon's mouth should be placed over the bottle's top.
5.Lift the balloon's end once it is properly inflated to release the vinegar into the
bottle holding the baking soda and water.

IV.DATA AND RESULTS:

QUESTIONER:WHAT DO YOU THINK HAPPENS WHEN YOU MIX BAKING SODA TO A
VINEGAR?
ANSWERS: The mixture quickly foams up with carbon dioxide gas.
VINEGAR:ACID
BAKING SODA:BASE

Observation:
we Observe Bubbles and Hissing.
The Bubbles That we see are the Carbon Dioxide, It quickly Breaksdown into CO2
and H2O.
if you Mix Vinegar and Soda it can release Gas.
They React Chemically because one is a Base and the other is an Acid

Hyphothesis:
What if we wanted to find out how to make more gas?

Comments:
if you mixed a large amount of Vinegar and Baking soda, the reaction will be an
Eruption!

RESULTS:
The Balloon will be filled up with Carbon Dioxide.

V.CONCLUSION:
Therefore, to conclude this experiment, the balloon could actually inflate it self by
simply mixing or combining the two chemiclas which is the baking soda and
vinegar to create Carbon dioxide.
