Hinduism

One of the oldest religion is Hinduism of India and is a much traditional religion with

commencements started back as far as 2500 B.C. The teachings convey people the way they

should live their lives and Hindus understood that if he or she lived correctly in this lifetime, he

will be born again at a greater level in the next life (reincarnation). According to Hinduism,

many periods must be lived on Earth before a person can completely apprehend the great

certainties of the universe and most Hindus revere Shiva, Vishnu (Chu Ta), or the goddess Devi,

but they also worship hundreds of supplementary minor deities.

Buddhism

Founded about many years ago in northern India by the Hindu prince

Siddhartha Gautama or the Enlightened One. It is believed that the main teachings of this

religion is about meditation, impermanence and karma in which it imposes philosophy that

leads to moral discipline. Although my main religion is Roman Catholic, the principles of

Buddhism is bestowing me to absorb and release its energy (meditation) in order relieve my

suffering, achieve an idyllic place to regain my energy and let karma hints to rebirth.

Confucianism

Concerning with the search for truth and the ways of living a good life, Confucianism is a

system of belief that founded by a Chinese philosopher, Confucius. The teachings of

Confucianism served humanity to live a peaceful life to gain improvement and wisdom. The

process to the redemption of liberation, contemplative attentiveness, knowledge, and morality

were supposed to include meditation as an essential element.

Taoism

Another set of Chinese traditional system of belief that highlights the presence of gentle

balance is Taoism. It is believed in Taoism that humans and animals lived in a balance state that
releases energy of inner freedom and harmony in the circle of life. The significant Taoist

doctrines are living in harmony with nature, inaction, and simplicity and that Taoist

metaphysical belief revitalized on a conviction in the act of harmony of the two contrasting

forces: yin and yang.

Shinto

Another East Asian traditional religion that is founded in Japan is the Shinto considering

that ‘kami’ is sacred that shaped the human life. Although most of the East Asian belief system

are bound on metaphysical existence which connects human beings to the universe, and like

Hinduism the Shinto belief are thought to be connected in our environment such as in trees,

water, mountains and others. Followers of Shinto believed to regulate natural powers inclined

by prayers and they consider that by purification, we can attain celestial nature.
