INTRODUCTION

God Wants You Well

“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and
may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” – 1 Thessalonians 5:23

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health,
just as your soul prospers” – 3 John 2

God’s word reminds us time and again that God wants His people
well. Sickness and disease have never been His perfect will for His
people. Divine healing has and will always be part of God’s
package for His people. Even His covenant with the Children of
Israel which fell far short of His expectation included provisions
for healing from every sickness and disease. Under the Mosaic
Covenant, God took personal responsibility for providing healing
for His people. Exodus 23:25 says:

“So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your
bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst
of you”.

Under the New Covenant, God has provided healing from every
sickness and disease through the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross of
Calvary. Isaiah 53:4–5 says:

“Surely He has borne our griefs

And carried our sorrows;

5
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.”

Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary purchased your healing

at the same time as your salvation. What Jesus did on that cross
was an actual transaction that involved a costly price. He accepted
actual bruises for your sins and bore in His body every sickness and
disease that has and will ever afflict your body. He did it all so that
you do not have to experience any of it. Someone said that “it
would be a miscarriage of justice for God Almighty to put
something on you that Jesus has already borne on your behalf.” Our
righteous and holy God will never demand a price from you that
Jesus has already paid.

Child of God, healing is your covenant right and Jesus paid for it so
that you can enjoy it and live healthy every day of your life.

This book contains basic Biblical instructions and tools that will
enable you to destroy every sickness and disease in your body and
live long and strong in divine health.

Chapter Four

How To Take Your Healing

“So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your
bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst
of you” – Exodus 23:25

“Surely He has borne our griefs

And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed” – Isaiah 53:4–5

“who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we,
having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes
you were healed” – 1 Peter 2:24

The scriptures confirm that Jesus has already done all that is
required to make your healing a reality. Remember that receiving
healing is not about getting God to do anything as Jesus Christ has
already done everything that was required. All that you need to do
is to claim the benefits of what Jesus has already done and receive
that healing that you need to destroy the sickness or disease that is
in your body.

7
Healing is available to every Child of God that is a legitimate
beneficiary of Jesus’ sacrifice at Calvary. As a Child of God, you
have a covenant with your Father in Heaven and healing is your
covenant right.

“Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the

Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of
infirmity eighteen years and was bent over and could in no way
raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and
said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” And He
laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and
glorified God. But the ruler of the synagogue answered with
indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said
to the crowd, “There are six days on which men ought to work;
therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath
day.” The Lord then answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not
each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the
stall, and lead it away to water it? So ought not this woman, being a
daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for
eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?” And
when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame;
and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were
done by Him” – Luke 13:10–17

As a Child of the Almighty God, a beneficiary of the Blessings of

Abraham and of Jesus’ sacrifice at Calvary, you have a covenant
right to the healing that you require for every sickness or disease in
your body TODAY. It does not matter the nature of the sickness or
disease and how long it has been in your body, in the eyes of Jesus
you ought to be healed TODAY. For this reason, healing always

8
comes, but it is not always received. God’s Word is clear about the
fact that God always does His part. One of the reasons why many
do not experience healing is because they do not always complete
the process by taking the healing that is being freely offered to
them. Receiving is usually the main obstacle to manifestation of
healing in our physical bodies. It is not that God is not making
healing available to us. In most cases, we do not experience it
because we are not taking or collecting it from His outstretched
hands.

Step One
The first step in taking your healing is to remind yourself of what
God has already done about the sickness or disease in your body.
Set aside quality time to read and meditate on the healing scriptures
that are listed in Appendix One at the back of this book. Take time
to listen to quality Christian teachings on divine healing, watch
video clips of healing meetings or crusades and watch video clips
of testimonies about the manifestation of God’s healing power in
the lives of other believers.

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
– Romans 10:17

These will help to build your faith in this area and eliminate any
doubts that you might have about God’s ability to heal you.
Eliminating doubts in your heart will enable you to build the faith
that you need to activate the Power of God and receive the healing
that you need in your body.

9
Step Two
The second step in the process of taking your healing is to make a
conscious decision to believe that it is God’s will for you to be
healed of that sickness or disease. This is an important act of your
own will because many believers get to a place where they have no
problem believing that God can heal, but they do not believe that he
will heal their particular situation. It is essential that you get to the
place in your knowledge of God through His Word where you
know without a shadow of doubt that even if He does not heal
anyone else today, He will definitely heal you of that sickness or
disease.

“And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if

You are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus put out His
hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.”
Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.” – Matthew 8:2-3

Read what God says about His will to heal you in Appendix Two at
the back of this book. Read and meditate on these until you are sure
in your heart that it is God’s will to heal you. Don’t rush into
praying until you have settled it in your heart that it is God’s
absolute will to heal you of every sickness or disease.

Step Three
The third step in the process of taking your healing is to pray for
your healing in faith.

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask

anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that

10
He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions
that we have asked of Him”. – 1 John 5:14–15

“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray,
believe that you receive them, and you will have them”
– Mark 11:24

Praying in faith means to believe that you have received the answer
to your prayer at the exact point in time when you pray. Praying in
faith is a decision that is based on what God’s word says. It is not
an emotion and definitely not based on whether the physical
situation has changed or not. By the end of your prayer, you need to
decide based on your knowledge of God’s word that the healing
Power of Jesus Christ is flowing from your spirit into your body to
destroy that sickness or disease.

You can choose to take communion at the time of prayer to make

Jesus’ sacrifice at Calvary more real to you and to mark the specific
point in time when you received your healing from God.

You can use the example prayer below:

Father, Your word that I have heard and believe is the power of
God unto my salvation. I confess Jesus Christ as Lord over my
life, spirit, soul and body. I believe that Jesus bore my sicknesses
and carried my diseases on the Cross of Calvary 2,000 years ago
and that by His stripes I was healed. Right now, I accept that fact
by faith. I believe that I am healed now in the Name of Jesus. I
receive the power of God to make me whole, sound, delivered,
saved and healed now. Sickness, disease and pain, I resist you in

11
the Name of Jesus Christ. You are not the will of God for me. I
enforce the word of God on you. I will not tolerate you in my life.
Leave my presence, I will never allow you back. I have been
healed and made sound. Jesus made me whole. My days of
sickness and disease are over. I am saved, I am the healed. The
power of sickness over my life has been forever broken. I have
been redeemed from the curse and I receive the blessing now in
Jesus’ Name. Thank you, Lord, for healing me and Thank You
for the full manifestation of my healing. In the Name of Jesus
Christ. Amen

Begin to thank God for healing your body and make a note of the
time and date when you prayed to receive your healing. Be assured
that the healing Power of God is flowing from your spirit into your
body to destroy that sickness or disease. You can begin to do
whatever you could not do before in those parts of your body that
were affected by the sickness and you should begin to feel the
difference.

Note that in some cases even after you have prayed for healing, it
might seem that the symptoms of the sickness or disease have not
changed. Be assured based on what God says in His word that His
Power is working to destroy the sickness or disease in your body.
The process of receiving healing sometimes involve standing on the
truth of the word of God and ignoring what is physically obvious to
the senses. As long as you keep standing on God’s word, the truth
will change the facts. You also need to ignore any negative
thoughts that the enemy puts into your mind regarding the situation.

12
“Now the just shall live by faith;
But if anyone draws back,
My soul has no pleasure in him.”
But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those
who believe to the saving of the soul.” – Hebrews 10:38–39

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the
victory that has overcome the world— our faith.” – 1 John 5:4

In some cases when you start believing God for healing the
circumstances will be in agreement with what the enemy is telling
you in your mind. This might also be what many of your friends
and family members are telling you about the situation. Standing in
faith requires that you focus on the word of God as the only
standard for truth concerning the situation. This is the mindset that
will ensure victory and the manifestation of the healing that you
desire.

Step Four
The fourth step in the process of taking your healing is to use
God’s medicine to destroy every remaining symptom of that
sickness or disease in your body.

“My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings.

Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of
your heart. For they are life to those who find them, healing and
health to all their flesh.” – Proverbs 4:20–22 AMPC

Proverbs 4:22 says that God’s word is medicine with the ability to
bring healing and health to our physical bodies. God’s word has the

13
ability to destroy every remaining symptom of sickness and disease
in your body if taken according to God’s instructions. You need to
read it daily in order to ensure that it is always in the centre of your
heart. Ensure that you read at least one chapter of your Bible daily
and also take time to read and meditate on the healing scriptures in
Appendix One.

“He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their
destructions” – Psalm 107:20

“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;

It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it” – Isaiah 55:11

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be

removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart,
but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have
whatever he says” – Mark 11:23

Psalm 107:20 says that God has already sent His word to give you
the healing that you need in your physical body and Isaiah 55:11
confirms that the word will not return to Him without
accomplishing the purpose for which it was sent. Mark 11:23
shows that you need to exercise your faith by giving voice to the
word of God in your life and situation just like God instructed
Ezekiel to do in the Old Testament (Ezekiel 37: 4–7). Your
mountain of sickness or disease needs to hear your voice and
Jesus guarantees that you will have whatever you say.

14
You give voice to the word of God in your life by confessing
healing scriptures over your life and situation. In the same way that
you take the drugs prescribed by your Medical Doctor by putting
them into your mouth, you need to take God’s medicine by putting
the healing scriptures in His word into your mouth and speaking
them out. The healing scriptures below are like your spiritual ‘five-
a-day’ for divine healing and health. Confess them and the others in
Appendix Three at least once a day:

“As I serve the LORD my God, He blesses my bread and my water.

And He takes sickness away from the midst of me.” - Exodus 23:25

“And the LORD has taken away from me all sicknesses and will
afflict me with none of the terrible diseases in existence.”
- Deuteronomy 7:15

“Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His
holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His
benefits: Who forgives all my iniquities, Who heals all my
diseases, Who redeems my life from destruction, Who crowns me
with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies my mouth
with good things, So that my youth is renewed like the eagle’s”
- Psalm 103:1–5

“Surely He has borne my griefs And carried my sorrows; Yet I

esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But
He was wounded for my transgressions, He was bruised for my
iniquities; The chastisement for my peace was upon Him, And by
His stripes I am healed” - Isaiah 53:4–5

15
“Who Himself bore my sins in His own body on the tree, that I,
having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes
I was healed” - I Peter 2:24

Keep confessing them daily until every symptom of that sickness

or disease has left your body. If the symptoms persist or get more
serious, increase the dosage by confessing them two, three or four
times every day. It is also important to ensure that you only speak
positive words out of your lips concerning the situation.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love
it will eat its fruit” – Proverbs 18:21

You give life or death to the situations in your life through your
words. So, you need to ensure that every word that you speak
concerning that sickness or disease agrees with your prayer or what
you believe that God has done. Stop claiming the sickness or
disease as your own by referring to it as “my migraine” or “my
high blood pressure”. It no longer belongs to you if Jesus has
already borne it and paid the price for you to be healed of it. Your
words must agree with your prayers, otherwise you will
experience the fruits or results of your words and keep wondering
why God is not answering your prayers.

In situations where the sick person is unable to read or confess the

word of God, you can play an audio version of the New Testament
continuously to them so that God’s word is being fed into their
mind and spirit. The life in God’s word (John 6:63) will develop in
them the faith that is required to expel that sickness or disease from
their body.

16
Step Five
The fifth step in the process of taking your healing is to use your
authority as a Child of God to expel that sickness or disease from
your body.

“Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound

in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in
heaven” – Matthew 18:18

“And so I tell all of you: what you prohibit on earth will be

prohibited in heaven, and what you permit on earth will be
permitted in heaven” – Matthew 18:18 GNT

As a Child of God, your Father in Heaven has delegated a certain

amount of authority to you; especially concerning your personal
life and situation. He expects you to exercise or use this authority to
bring about change and the Bible implies that Heaven will move in
response to the exercise of your authority in these areas. Where
sicknesses or diseases persist due to the activities of demonic
forces, God expects us to use the authority delegated to us by Jesus
Christ to dislodge them. You cannot always leave this to your
pastors and others to do on your behalf.

“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in

heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that
every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory
of God the Father”. – Philippians 2:10–11

You need to talk directly to that sickness or disease, rebuke it and

ask it to leave your body in Jesus’ Name. If the sickness or disease

17
has a name, call it by its name and command it to submit to the
authority of the Name of Jesus. Migraine is a name, tuberculosis is
a name and cancer is a name. The Bible says that they must all
submit to the authority of the Name of Jesus. Call its name, rebuke
it, bind it and cast it out of your body in the Name of Jesus. See an
example of how you can exercise your authority below:

“Satan, in the Name of Jesus, I resist you and command you to stop
your maneuvers against me and the word of God. I plead the Blood
of Jesus against you and I bind you in the Name of Jesus.
(Mention sickness by its name), I command you to get out of my
body in Jesus’ Name. I break your power over my life and forbid
you to operate in my body in Jesus’ Name. I plead the Blood of
Jesus against you and I cast you out now in the Name of Jesus
Christ. Amen”

You can also speak to your body or immune system and ask it to
expel that sickness or disease and function perfectly in Jesus’
Name. See an example of how you can do this below:

“Father, in the Name of Jesus I loose your healing power over my

life and body to destroy every symptom of sickness (mention its
name). I take my healing now in Jesus’ Name. Body, I command
you to expel every trace of (mention sickness its name) right now
and receive the healing that Jesus Christ purchased for me on the
Cross of Calvary. Be healed and begin to function perfectly in the
Name of Jesus. Thank You Father for healing me. In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.”

18
Whatever you do, you must decide not to be moved or influenced
by what you can see or feel regarding the physical circumstances.
You might exercise your authority for a couple of days without
seeing any change but be rest assured that you are acting in line
with what God has said in His word and the situation will surely
change. Jesus assures us in Mark 11:23 that the situation will obey
us, if we stand our ground.

Step Six
The sixth step in the process of taking your healing is to water
your prayers and confessions with thanksgiving and praise.
People often ask the question: “What do I do during the period of
time between making a request in the place of prayer and seeing the
manifestation?”. The answer is thanksgiving and praise.

“Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set
ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir,
who had come against Judah; and they were defeated”
– 2 Chronicles 20:22

Thanksgiving and praise are potent weapons in the spiritual

warfare that is often involved in bringing about the physical
manifestation of what we have requested in the place of prayer.
Thanksgiving and praise are often referred to as the highest forms
of prayer. The person that can thank and praise God before they see
the manifestation of their prayer is one that is fully persuaded that it
will surely come to pass. We use thanksgiving and praise to
complete the process of receiving from God.

19
Set aside time to thank God for answering your prayers and to
praise Him for what you know that He has done concerning the
situation.

Step Seven
The final stage in the process of taking your healing is to stand
on what you know as the truth of the word of God until you see
the full manifestation of your healing.

“Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put
on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with
the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield
of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of
the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of
the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer
and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all
perseverance and supplication for all the saints”
– Ephesians 6:14-18

When you have done all that the word of God instructs you to do
regarding receiving your healing, all that is left is to stand and
watch God bring about the change that you desire in the situation.

“And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and
see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you
today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again
no more forever” – Exodus 14:13

As a believer, you have been instructed to stand and watch God

work on your behalf to dislodge every sickness and disease in your

20
body. However, standing is not a position of passivity. You are not
expected to just accept what is happening without active response
or resistance.

While standing check your life to ensure that there is nothing that
might be hindering the manifestation of your healing. Repent of
any unforgiveness, bitterness, strife, anger, malice or anything else
that might be blocking the manifestation of God’s will in your life.
Ensure that you are walking in love towards all those that are
around you. Continue to confess the healing scriptures and continue
thanking and praising God for the manifestation of healing in your
body. Also continue to feed your heart with quality teachings and
testimonies on healing and you are sure to see the manifestation of
the healing that Jesus purchased for you on the Cross of Calvary.

When your healing manifests, thank God for making it a reality

and testify to others about His goodness and faithfulness in your
life. It is also important to maintain a healthy lifestyle and allow the
Holy Spirit to guide you into a life of divine health.

Salvation Prayer

If you do not yet know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour,
simply pray the following prayer in faith to receive Him into your
life.

Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. Your word

says “Whosoever shall call on the Name of the Lord shall be saved”
and “if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shall
believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou
shalt be saved” (Acts 2:21; Romans 10:9). Father, I take You at Your
Word. I confess now that Jesus is Lord and I believe in my heart that
You raised Him from the dead. I receive Jesus as my personal Lord
and Saviour. Thank You for coming into my heart, for giving me
Your Holy Spirit as You have promised and for being Lord over my
life. Amen.

Congratulations on this life-changing decision. Share the good news

with someone and make time to develop your Christian life by doing
the following:
1. Communicate with your Father in Heaven through prayer
daily
2. Attend a Bible-believing church regularly
3. Read at least one chapter of the Bible every day.
