WEEK 3

Name of Student: Allysa Danice Q. Dela Cruz

Date: August 16-23, 2023

During my third week of film series production, I continued to making an effort both on and off
set to the project. On days without shoots, my responsibility was to prepare the editable sides
script for Director Catu, aligning it with the call sheet for the upcoming scenes.

August 17: Exploring New Shooting Locations

This day marked an exciting shoot at Tanggapan Cave in Biak na Bato, Bulacan. It was a
completely new experience for me, as I had never been on a shoot in such a unique location
before. The location's originality added an interesting element of novelty to the production.
Later, we changed locations and went to Nueva Ecija, an amusement park. I had a case of
hyperacidity before going there, but I was able to sleep the whole trip. I was determined not to let
this setback hinder my momentum, and I maintained my full focus throughout the shoot. After a
long and tiring day of filming, the cast and crew indulged in the amusement park's rides,
solidifying our bond outside of work.

August 19: Challenges and Dedication

Another day, another set of locations. This time, we were in San Miguel, Bulacan again. The first
shoot by the highway was demanding due to the noise from passing vehicles. The scene involved
multiple characters from the neighborhood, necessitating strong teamwork and coordination. I
took on the role of helping with blocking and monitoring the actors' adherence to the script.
Witnessing the actors bring their characters to life in front of the camera, guided by the directors'
vision, was an amazing experience. Despite the challenges, we managed to complete the shots.
Later, we shifted to a garden location for more scenes, and then to a supermarket. One of the
actors encountered physical discomfort, but their determination to finish the scene was
commendable. The resilience and commitment shown by this actor left a lasting impression on
me.

August 21: Adaptation and Admiration

The shooting plans for our ninth day, scheduled for August 21, had to be altered due to an
unforeseen event involving one of our actors. This led to a change in shoot location, and we
conducted the shoot in Quezon City. Despite this unexpected change, I couldn't help but admire
the unwavering dedication of the senior actors, who consistently delivered their best
performances.
August 23: San Ildefonso High School, Bulacan Shoot

Day 10 of shooting took us to San Ildefonso High School in Bulacan. This day focused on
capturing the chemistry between the lead characters of the film series. It became evident to me
that as a director, maintaining faith in the characters’ development and their arcs within the story
is crucial. The lighting department's skillful execution of creating a daylight effect within the
classroom setup, even in nighttime conditions, left me in awe. This innovation reinforced the
magic of filmmaking in transforming settings.

Additionally, I had the opportunity to contribute to the production design by assisting in the
creation of eggshell baby props. Amid the hectic schedule, we took a moment to celebrate the
birthdays of the cast and crew during dinner, serving as a reminder to appreciate the small joys
and take a breather. Despite the challenges faced along the way, I remained committed to
helping out wherever needed and ensuring the well-being of our mentor, Director Catu.
Conclusion:

After experiencing this week's film production, I have a deeper understanding of the
complexities and rewards of this art form. From unexpected challenges to witnessing the
dedication of both cast and crew, I am grateful for the lessons learned and the memories created
during this leg of the film series production journey.
