Videofreex: The 'Pioneers' of

Citizen Journalism
The Videofreex was a group of idealists
who captured political and social
upheaval with their portable video
cameras. They were founded in 1969 by
David Cort, Mary Curtis Ratcliff and Parry
Teasdale, long before the internet made
its debut. They used their guerilla-style
footage to offer alternative perspectives to
that of mainstream media.

Ever Dream This Man?
'This Man' was claimed to have been repeatedly
seen in dreams worldwide since 2006, but was never
found in the real world. A website dedicated to this
phenomenon was created by Andrea Natella in
2008, but it was not until October 2009 that it
gained attention from the press and online internet
users. On an interview with Vice magazine, Natella
explained that he first dreamed of 'This Man' in the
winter of 2008, and 'This Man', "invited him to create
a website to find an answer to his own appearance."
'This Man' was later debunked and Natella admitted
ThisMan.org was simply a marketing ploy, although
he never revealed what it was promoting.
