Background of Ethiopian Industrial Inputs Development Enterprise (EIIDE)

Ethiopian Industrial Input Development Enterprise (EIIDE) formed in 2015 under the
proclamation number 328/006/ by replacing Merchandise wholesale and Import Trade Enterprise
(MEWIT) was established in 1993 by the merger of the former trading corporations. Now EIIDE
supply industrial inputs for Agro-processing industries, Textile, Hide, and Skin manufacturing
industries and return that sale their outputs.

Mission

The Mission of Ethiopian Industrial Inputs Development Enterprise is to contribute to the


success of the country’s manufacturing industries and to stabilize the market, with the help of
competent manpower and technology systems and the creation of a strong supply and marketing
chain, the development of quality industrial inputs and access to selected industrial products.

Vision of EIIDE

In 2022, to be the preferred business partner in Africa's manufacturing industry.

Marketing Strategy

EIIDE have different marketing strategies in order to reaching potential consumers. some of
EIIDE strategies :-Product , Price , Place and Promotion strategies.

Product Strategies

Product bought by EIIDE based assessments of marketing and collected request from their
potential customer of EIIDE, those product have high quality, seasonal , longer-lasting ,naturally
sourced product and available in all EIIDE branch (Bishoftu branch, Adama branch, Gonder
branch, Gambela Branch …) and also high discount product.

The EIIDE provide many product in different categories such as Food(Pasta, Macaroni, Salt,
Oil, Sugar) , Building (different gej sheet, roofing nail, different size nail) , Foam, bed sheet,
blanket,Towel, Detergent ( hard soap, liquid soap, omo) and many more.

Pricing Strategies
One of the most Critical mission of EIIDE is to stabilize the market in price of goods and
availability of product. In order to set price of product EIIDE consider purchasing cost,
transportation, loading and unloading ,other expense, profit margin and pricing trends among
competitors .

EIIDE have five District and Eight Three branch all over Ethiopia those branch provide service
to customers in working day including Saturday morning from 2:30 a.m to 6:30 p.m and In all of
branch sales man display sample product to customer from branch store ,paste banner and
sometime branch participate in bazaar to show product.
Promotion Strategies

EIIDE marketing department have vital role in manage and controlling promotion .EIIDE can
use different promotion strategies in order to create awareness of their products to their
customers and firms. It use different promotion method such as Board Casting media like
Television, develop website, participate in bazaar and Sunday market ,by preparing broachers
and marketing department staffs go to their customer and announce if there is new product to
taste. In General EIIDE use different promotion strategies in order to Informing and Attracting
their Potential Customers and also positioning into customers mind.
