1. Care about everyone’s safety – I will care about everyone’s safety, not just my own.- Everyone
has the right to a healthy and safe workplace

2. Use the correct PPE, tools and equipment – I will always wear the correct PPE for the task and
use it in the correct manner. (Always wear the appropriate PPE/Do not access the lab without
task specific PPE)

3. Speak up, intervene and escalate – I will always report unsafe acts and conditions and STOP the
work if its necessary

4. Do not carry out a task unless you are trained and authorized to do it. Make sure you assess the
risks involved and guard against them.

5. Always use fall protection safety equipment when working at heights.

6. Pay Attention to Chemicals & Hazard Substances – Follow MSDS Instructions & understand
hazard symbols.

7. Line of fire: Ensure yourself and others are positioned away from stored pressure, moving
machinery and pinch point areas.

8. Work permit is an essential and mandatory management tool to be adopted for non-routine or
dangerous activities.

9. Be aware of emergency procedure & evacuation routes.
