A Zonk Trap for Elphie

In the third dry season, on a small, arid island called Namma, lived an elephants colony. They
were on a very long journey to find a spring. They walked through the wilderness to get some
water from the spring because there was no more drop of water in their home village. After a
long journey, they met Sinha, a mighty sly lion who always spotted new comers to be a delicious
prey for him and his family. One of his prey targets was Elphie, a big innocent elephant. Sinha
felt happy because he would trap that innocent without having a lot of plans to trap and make
him as prey.
"Welcome to our village, O gallant friends!" He greeted intimately at the elephants colony. "And
hello my most handsome and charismatic friend!" He continued greeting Elphie. Elphie
answered, "O Mr. Lion, thank you for welcoming us here." Then, without further ado, Elphie
conveyed what was the purpose of his visit and his friends coming there, "With respect, Sir. Our
coming is to find some water. We need your help to tell us where the spring is in the village. We
are from a village at the end of this island. Our village was running out of water during this long
dry season. So, can you help us?" Sinha agreed without hesitation. He would help them, but
Sinha told them one term, they can only go there one by one, not in flocks. They accepted it.
Sinha led them one by one to go there. Elphie got the last place. While led Elphie's friends,
Sinha prepared the trap secretly. He made a big deep hole, covered by a pile of dried leaves.
He was very confident that it would succeed. Now, it was Elphie's turn! On the way Sinha took
Elphie to the spring, Sinha's son was playing near the trap. "BRUKKK!!!" A moment later the
sound was heard. His son fell down in the trap. When Sinha and Elphie almost approached the
trap, they heard to the lion cub crying. Sinha found his son in the hole. Elphie was touched
when seeing Sinha panic and Sinha's son crying. Elphie helped get Sinha's son out of the hole
with his trunk. Sinha then thanked him and told the truth that he was about to trap Elphie in the
hole. After the incident, they became a new family.
