Trouble & Strife


Nigel Reeves has been successful in his career but he was not happy with his life. Uncertain of what he
wanted to do or where he was going, he quit his job and set off on a round the world trip to 'find himself'. His
family and friends were overjoyed when he returned as a reinvigorated man. They were even more pleased
when they found out that, on the trip, he had met someone special. However, they were less than happy
when they found out that not only was she a little older than he was, but that they were now married. A party
to celebrate their wedding is to be thrown, but not everyone feels like making merry.

Nursing A Grudge
Meadowfields Retirement Homes are an up and coming company in the local area. Having expanded rapidly
over the last few years, they have upheld a reputation for competitively priced quality care and are regarded
by many as a role model for similar companies. To maintain the momentum for change and improvement,
Meadowfields have organised their first Awards for Excellence evening. Staff throughout the organisation are
to be recognised for their input and contribution to the company's success. Management hope that the
interdepartmental competition will spur their employees towards making more changes for the better.
However, someone is going to find out that change always comes at a price...

Better The Devil


Filming is due to start on a new British horror film, "Better The Devil". Based loosely on the successful book
of the same name, the plot draws its inspiration from a series of events and local legends from the quiet
village of Duckham. The producers are keen to actually film in Duckham itself. Knowing the disruption that
their presence will have on the local community whilst they are filming, they have decided to throw a small
party for some of the key residents of the village. They hope it will give them a chance to outline their plans to
the residents, win over those who oppose the filming and to get their working relationship off to a good start.
However, it seems that someone, or something, does not want the story to be told....

Bet Your Life


Three years ago dot com entrepreneur Alan Saunders sold his business for a large amount of money. Since
then he has invested in many of his passions, the main one being horse racing. Despite having employed the
services of the once great trainer Tom Richards success has proved elusive until now. They have just had his
first major win and are throwing a party for all their friends and acquaintances to celebrate. The future looks
rosy, what could possibly go wrong?

Village Fate
Every year, the Duckham Residents Association selects the recipients of their Awards for Achievement and
invites them all to a gala dinner. With controversial building works threatening the village and the DRA at their
most militant in years, it looks as though the ceremony won’t go as smoothly as normal.

Plot Device
It is 1978 and local company Belladonna Technologies is launching an innovative new device that will change
the world of music forever. All the people involved in bringing the product to fruition have been invited along to
the launch dinner. But does the product really work? Will it sell as well as the company management have
been predicting?

The Party's Over


You are cordially invited to the retirement party of Celia Dunning, a councillor for the local area. After nearly
twenty years of service to the community, Celia is stepping down so that she can devote more time to her
family and her successful estate agency. The evening has been planned with Celia's usual theatrical flair. It
should be an ideal occasion for those whom her career has affected the most to let her know what they really
think...

Detective Friction
Congratulations! Having entered a competition, you've won an opportunity to meet the stars of popular
Sunday night television show, "Beyond Pryce". Owen Pryce is a hapless private investigator in a sleepy
Welsh village; he lives with his mother, who ends up solving most of the cases for him without him realising it.
The whimsical charm of the show has won it good audience figures. A three course meal and a chance to
chat to the people responsible for this loveable show are yours. And surely the stars of so captivating and
delightful a programme must be equally pleasant and friendly...
Wheel of Misfortune
After a short romance Sophie Harris recently got engaged. Sophie is an award winning conceptual artist. Her
parents, David and Penny, are very proud of their only daughter and so have invited you to join them at a
party they are throwing for all their friends and family to celebrate her engagement. Sophie is engaged to
John Sullivan, owner of Sullivan and Sons, a second hand car dealership. John took over the running of the
company a couple of years ago when his grandfather died, and he has taken the business in some
imaginative directions in that time. Do Mr and Mrs Harris approve of their daughter's choice of fiancee? And
is there a reason why most of John's family are not attending the party?

Tying the Knot


Shaun Wells has known many women in his time and no one believed that he would ever settle down. Then
he met Natalie Lovegrove and his life changed. After a whirlwind romance Shaun and Natalie are getting
married, and you have been invited to their wedding reception. Will the wedding go off without a hitch? Or will
everything unravel as murderous emotions rise to the surface?

Dramatic Exit
Wellingford Amateur Dramatic Society are holding their first ever awards evening. In decades past, the group
has received many accolades and several members have gone on to become professional actors. However,
recent years have seen something of a decline. Whilst the group’s heyday may have passed, it is hoped that
this evening will help rejuvenate this once-proud organisation. There are some who welcome this attempt to
revive WADS’s fortunes, but there are many who believe that this is a divisive and patronising waste of time.
With controversy regarding the nature of the event competing with the hullabaloo over who will win awards, it
appears that the last thing this will be is a quiet night out...

Silver Meddle
David and Barbara Hopkins are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. Their family gathers round but,
with children from a previous marriage as well as one of their own, it promises to be a complicated and
tangled affair. Add to that the recent revelation about inheritance money from David's parents and it looks like
the party might be memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Moving On
Gerry and Annette Davenport have just sold up everything, including their booming publishing business and
are retiring to New Zealand. Before they go, they have decided to throw one last party to say goodbye to all
the friends and family they are leaving behind, including the new owner of the company. But who will miss
them and who is happy to see them go? And who has a final score to be settled?

The Final Stage


It is 1924. The play "The Final Stage" by exciting new playwright Arthur Kirby has opened in the West End.
You have been invited to meet those people that brought this play to the stage to celebrate the opening night.
Are the actors highly strung because of the energy put into the play or is something more sinister going on?

The British Ufologists Society is holding its annual convention. Come along to meet well known believers and
sceptics. Some of the delegates have come a long way, but how far? And do they have all have peaceful
intentions?

Of Grave Importance
Following the tragic murder of local vicar Father Trevor Allard, All Saints church stands empty and its
congregation has been amalgamated with that of the church in the neighbouring village. However, the
community have recently discovered that not only is the church being sold to be redeveloped but also that the
graveyard is going to be built on. Local community and residents’ associations have joined forces to try to
raise funds to buy the site for the community, and you are invited to the first fundraising evening. However,
personality clashes and closely guarded secrets among the locals means that working together is not an easy
matter, and may even prove to be fatal. It looks like no one will be resting in peace...
