OVERVIEW:

A food label is referred to as the identity card of a food product as well as a

selection guide for consumable goods to satisfy the unique nutritional
requirements of consumers. All pre-packaged foods must have labels since they
reveal information about the ingredients, composition, and proportionate
quantities. Consumers also learn about the origin, preparation, and preservatives of
their food as well as its quality. Therefore, if the message they provide is clear and
contextualized, food labels may have intrinsic protective and health-promoting
effects. Because they give consumers access to nutritional information, food labels
are a crucial tool for promoting public health because they enable them to make
smarter and healthier food decisions. This study's goal was to assess people's level
of familiarity and comprehension with the nutritional information on food labels as
well as its impact on food choices among Mabini College JHS students.
