Hi everyone! Welcome to Yuri
Today we izakaya or Japanese style bars. The menu at
western style bars or pubs focuses mostly on western spirits, but at an
izakaya there is usually a good selection of Japanese drinks like beer,
sh and sake. There is usually a robust food menu as well.
Some popular chain izakayas like Amataro, Shirokiya, Watami, Shoya, Kita
no Kazoku and Wara Wara have locations across Japan. Most have extremely
long hours, staying open from 5pm to 5am the following day. They even
remain full of customers on into the early hours of the morning on Fridays
and Saturdays.
Drinks like beer and chuhai mixed drinks cost about 500 yen for a large mug
full, and, depending on the label, most sake costs between 500 to 600 yen.
The food menus include everything from simple salads, deep fried foods and
stews to Shabushabu and Korean-style barbeque. With so many different types
of food, customers can enjoy all kinds of flavors from Western to Eastern.
The traditional Izakaya menu includes grilled chicken skewers, cold tofu,
edamame, sashimi, deep fried chicken, pickled vegetables, dried foods and
salted fermented fish guts.
Some Izakayas offer limited time
