Lesson 1
Different Organ Systems Work
Together

MELC: Explain how the different organ systems work together (S6LT-IIc-d-2)
Objectives: 1. Identify the different organ systems that work together
2. Describe the different organ systems that work together
3. Explain how different organ systems work together

Let’s Explore and Discover

Unlocking of
Did you know that
Difficulties:
human body is composed of
different body systems?
Body System- Each system has organs

organs that vital functions to keep the

to perform a Let’s find out.
certain function

. Circulatory System works with all body cells. During respiration,

the circulatory system carriesCarries
oxygen and carbon dioxide back to
the lungs. It absorbs nutrients from the food we eat during digestion.

Digestive System works closely with the circulatory system to

get the absorbed nutrients distributed throughout the body. It also
work with the excretory system in eliminating undigested food as
wastes product from the body

1
The respiratory system works with the circulatory
and digestive systems during the process of digestion
wherein the digested nutrients are carried by the blood
together with oxygen, they are distributed to all parts of the
body at the same time releases carbon dioxide. It is
connected to the nervous system in the nose when we
breathe.

Skeletal System provides support and structure to the

body and interacts with the muscular system for body
movement. It works with the circulatory system in the
production of red and white blood cells.

The Muscular System works with the skeletal

system to support keep it steady and to move. It is
connected to the nervous system for movement at the
same time coordinates with the digestive and excretory
systems during digestion and excretion of body wastes.

The nervous system is the control center of the

body that directs other body systems. It instructs,
controls, monitors, and coordinates all body systems
and processes.

Excretory System the system that removes liquid

body wastes from the body, it works with the circulatory
system. Blood that circulates through the body passes
one of the two kidneys while the digestive system collects
and removes undigested food, the excretory system filters
the substances from the bloodstream and collect them as
urine.

Let’s Practice

ACTIVITY 1
Directions: Put a on the space provided if the body systems work together and
☼ if not.
1. Respiratory and circulatory system works together to remove
deoxygenated blood and return oxygenated blood throughout the
body.
2. Nervous system controls and coordinates all body systems and
processes.
3. Excretory system removes liquid body wastes that work with the
circulatory system during the circulation of blood.

4. Muscular, skeletal, and nervous system works together to create

body movement.

5. When you breathe, the circulatory system carries oxygen to your

cells and carries dissolved carbon dioxide back to the lungs.

ACTIVITY 2
Directions: Match the interaction of the body organ systems in column A with
the body organ systems in column B. Write only the letter on the blank.
Column A Column B
____1. The systems that work together to A. Excretory and circulatory

3
Let’s Do More

ACTIVITY 1
Directions: Draw a line to connect the pictures with the description riddles of
body organ systems interactions.

I digest the food you eat.

I will deliver the food nutrients
▪ ▪ A
to the cells of your body

I allow your body to move.

▪ ▪ B
I protect and support your soft
body parts.

▪ ▪ C I will allow you to breathe.

I will interpret what you smell.

I will supply your body with

oxygen.
▪ ▪ D I will deliver it to all the cells in
your body

I will collect and remove undigested

food in your body.
▪ ▪ E I will filter the liquid substances in your
blood and collect them as urine.
