    Please make a summary of this lecture. Volume is about 250 words in English.
    (What a story lecturer is thinking. What are the needs in our society. How the society will change
    because of his research and technology. What is important to realize his research and technology.)

    Typical damages on bridges is corrosion on main rebar, shear reinforcement, or even the
    plate of steel due to exposed to air. In trusses bridge are very weak when corrosion
    cause the diagonal part of trusses break off, which leads to potential of collapsed. In
    some cases, the concrete arch which supppsed to resist compression load, was cracked
    due to tension load from widening of river. The trapped garbage, such as plastic bag,
    timber, on the bridge structure component was also contributed to the damage due to
    the weakest point.
    In Japan, Investigating bridges need to follow the rulem, where hammering inspection
    should be carried out.
