reading classes by integrating different teaching methods and strategies in order to
enhance their students reading comprehension skill.

At the end of this course, the student should be able to:

CLO1: Describe main principles, approaches and strategies of teaching reading skill
and reading comprehension as explained in the course. (C2, PLO1)

CLO2: Design a professional reading lesson plan and instructional materials in


accordance to the principlesof effective planning and teaching methods of English
reading skill in a written assignment. (C5, PLO6)

CLO3: Demonstrate a micro teaching session for a reading lesson based on


previously designed teaching materials by the students. (C3, P5, PLO5)

13 Synopsis:
In this course, students will focus on the theory, best practice of instructional
methodology used for teaching reading skill to English Language Learners. The
course also introduces the students to a variety of approaches to integrate language
teaching, reading strategies and reading assessment. Some of the topics include
introduction to reading, stages in learning to read, reading approaches and strategies
and reading assessment.
