HORTATORY

Foreign ships are ships that have a flag other than the Indonesian flag and are not recorded in the
Indonesian ship register. The aim of sinking foreign ships is to protect the sovereignty of the Republic
of Indonesia's maritime territory and preserve the biodiversity that exists in Indonesia's maritime
territory.

Sinking old and damaged ships can help protect the marine environment from the dangers of
pollution, such as leaks of oil and hazardous materials. Ships that are no longer in use can build
artificial coral reefs that support marine ecosystems.

some may argue that sinking foreign ships could be detrimental to their owners and impact the
shipping industry. However, the sinking of foreign ships provides a deterrent effect for foreign
fishermen who carry out illegal fishing.

from the dangers of pollution, such as leaks of oil and other hazardous materials.

maritime regulations and laws, such as illegal fishing or smuggling.

regarding transparency and consistent law enforcement.
