The campus:

Fordham University is as idyllic as college campuses get: 85 acres featuring Gothic

architecture and tree-lined walkways.
There’s even more to it than that, as we’re right across the street from the incredibly lush
New York Botanical Garden. The campus was established in 1841 as St. John’s College by the
Right Rev. John Hughes, Coadjutor-Bishop (later Archbishop) of New York, on old Rose Hill
Manor in the village of Fordham, then part of Westchester County. The name Fordham is
derived from the Anglo-Saxon words “ford” and “ham,” meaning a wading place or ford by a
settlement. The College’s name was officially changed to Fordham University in 1907.

Broadway shows and extra excursions need to be booked by the third day after arrival.

Orientation Tour of the Campus will be planned according to the group arrival.

Welcome Speech: on the first day after arrival at 08:00 am ZUMA staff will meet the students
and Group Leaders outside the hall of residence for the welcome speech.
Classes: on the first after arrival students will meet the ZUMA Staff at 9:00 am outside the
hall of residence to be taken to their classes.

School time: 09:00-10:30

EXCURSIONS: MEETING POINT OUTSIDE THE HALL OF RESIDENCE

FULL DAY TRIP: From 10 AM to 6:00PM APART FROM SATURDAYS (DINNER OUT)
HALF DAY TRIP: From 1:30 PM to 6:30PM

Accommodation: Bed linen and towels changed on Monday.

Lounge: To be used as common area for the groups on each floor.

Night Security: 24 hours a day. Students are not allowed to leave the residences after
11PM.

Internet: Free Wi-Fi available in each room.

Laundry: Washing machines and dryers can be used free of charge on basement floor.

The University has a NO SMOKING policy which supports the aim of a smoke-free campus.
Smoking and Vaping are prohibited in ALL AREAS!!!
