Each new version of Optiplan is the result of close collaboration between Lectra and its customers
and helps to improve the performance of your design and cutting room.
Lectra also offers a range of services tailored to your business.

Consulting
Lectra's consulting services will help you identify difficulties associated with your business and define
areas for improvement in order to optimize your processes and reduce the time to market of your
products. Our team of business consultants helps you define your investment priorities and prepare an
action plan to accelerate time to market, reduce costs, streamline the task process, and improve
communication flows. Our consultants have on average more than 10 years experience in your
business sectors and technologies, enabling them to intervene at every stage in the consulting process,
from the initial audit to project implementation.

Training
Training enables you to start using your Lectra software or equipment quickly and to get the best out of
it. Training is delivered by more than 120 solutions specialists and can be provided on your site with
customized programs or at one of Lectra's worldwide training centers. Select the training modules best
suited to your needs and combine them to create your own personalized training program.

Lectra Software Maintenance

This annual subscription contract offers you a simple, cost-effective way of managing your software
investment plan while benefiting from Lectra's latest technological advances and the support of experts.
Once you have signed the contract, you have regular access to updates for your software. In addition,
Lectra's business and solutions experts based at its five international Call Centers are always on hand
to give you quick, personalized support. Lectra's new software maintenance contract guarantees that
your investment works smoothly and efficiently on a daily basis in your own environment.

INTRODUCTION
Optiplan is a tool designed for defining spreading and cutting plans based on a production order. The
solution is used in various customer processes:

 Analyzing material consumption to ensure better control of product costs.

 Analyzing material consumption to reserve or order the right amount of fabric.

 Optimizing cutting room organization thanks to precise information in the definition of

spreading and cutting plans (definition, processing time, cost, etc.) in connection with ERP
systems, material stock management systems and CAD data.

 Automatically running Lectra's spreading and cutting systems with minimized risk of error.
Optiplan V3R4 brings new benefits to these four processes in continuity with previous versions.

1. IMPROVEMENTS AND THEIR BENEFITS

 Better integration of Optiplan with Lectra's overall offer, which:

 Reduces rekeying errors and improves data quality.

 Streamlines the process of defining cutting plans and the associated markers.

 Cutting plan processing is better optimized and reduces:

 User time by automatically making cutting plans in batches.

 Marker creation times by using reference markers.

 Material consumption by easily comparing different solutions achieved with different

configurations and by refining the management of deviations in the quantities produced.

 Dispatch times by managing rules on defining the number of plies.

 Ergonomic improvements facilitate:

 Use of the solution.

 The definition of marker names from the cutting plan.

 User appropriation of the solution through a new online help feature.

2. NEW FUNCTIONS IN DETAIL

2.1 Optiplan integration into the overall process

 Although material shrinkage is managed during cutting (and not in the variant) in ERP
systems, it is also taken into account when generating cutfiles and files for printing,
maintaining data consistency:

 Cutfile exports and printing of markers are now directly available in Optiplan:

 Marker constraints based on groups of sizes and directions can now be defined in
Optiplan, which means that rekeying of data into the Diamino marker making solution is not
necessary:

 Markers are calculated automatically in Optiplan. If markers have to be processed

manually, the “checklist” of markers to be made, defined in Optiplan, can be viewed in
Diamino's MarkerManager:

2.2 Optimized cutting plan processing

 Cutting plan definition can now be optimized with new benchmarking functionalities. Fabric
widths and the maximum number of sizes per marker can be varied in line with targets set:
reduction of overall costs, material, etc.

 This version lets you process cutting plans by means of the automatic import of cutting
orders into dedicated folders. These are scanned so that, as soon as the ERP exports an
order, the order is processed next without user intervention. To do this the information

(parameters, benchmarks) must be provided in the export file from the source system
(ERP, CRM, etc.):

 Optiplan can now use reference markers for the definition of cutting plans in order to
reduce processing time and improve the accuracy of simulated efficiencies:

 A new permitted number of plies rule (multiple of the defined number of plies) gives you
better control of the product quantity cut per spread, facilitating the management of batches
after cutting for dispatch.

 Quantity deviations from a marker order can be customized so you can better evaluate
these differences and guarantee a reduction in costs or the production of the expected
quantities.

2.3 Ergonomic improvements

 To make the system more user-friendly, all section definition columns can now be sorted
alphanumerically and the sequencing of section names has been improved.

 Section names can be defined by the user on the basis of conventions.

 Online help accessible from the application is now available for defining the different
parameters available in the solution:
