Training Plan
1. INTRODUCTION
The main targeted groups for training programs of the Kaysakat Raw Water Transmission Line –
Tunnel Works will include the Employer’s management team and technical staff.
This Engineer Training Program will include construction, installation, testing, and commissioning
engineers as well as maintenance engineers and/or operators and electricians in all major works under
the scope of the Contractor.
Controllers and operators will take this opportunity to grab professional skills such as controlling and
operating the water conveyance system, to make it more reliable and efficient.
The Operation & Maintenance Manager will collaborate with the Contractor’s Representative, in
accordance with the employer’s requirement of trainees, to develop training content and design the
structure of training programs, method of training, and evaluation or assessment.
The Operation & Maintenance Manager will prepare the program by adopting following steps:
Demand Assessment
Training Design
Training Development
Trainees Classification
Training Implementation
End of Course Evaluation
For every individual, in the Training Needs Assessment, the gap of knowledge and the lack of
operational capabilities will be identified, considering different levels of responsibility and capability,
the training sessions will be scientifically organized for the professionals or technicians are the
example of the following field:

3. TRAINING DEVELOPMENT
The Contractor’s Operation & Maintenance Manager will be responsible for assigning the content,
designing appropriate activities, and research evaluation process, Contractor will discuss and receive
constructive suggestions from the Engineer who gather data, analyze information, and report to the
Employer for final approval.
The trainer from the contractor shall prepare the necessary curriculum, including principal theory,
safety, operation, manual of the equipment, and operation system, and submit it for approval by the
engineer.
When the equipment arrives at the site, the contractor and the technical personnel of the equipment
manufacturer will conduct technical and on-site training on the system for the trainees.
During the installation and commissioning process, the contractor and the equipment manufacturer
will conduct training on installation, commissioning, testing, and the principle of system structure
composition.
Ultrasonic Flowmeter
Ultrasonic Flowmeter is a type of flowmeter that determines the flow velocity of fluid using
ultrasonic soundwaves.
Submersible level transmitter monitors the continuous liquid level in e.g., wells, reservoirs,
tanks, boreholes (wells), rivers, and others. The submersible transmitter senses the hydrostatic
pressure at the bottom of the liquid.
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) are widely used in various industries to control and
automate processes, machines, and systems. PLCs rely on sensors and actuators to monitor
and manipulate physical variables, such as temperature, pressure, flow, speed, position, and
force.

This configuration will safeguard the PLC from shutting down when there is a power failure.
Air Valve
Air release valve is typically used in water or irrigation schemes to ensure that any entrained
air in the water system is automatically released in order to maximize the system’s
performance. Entrained air pockets in pipes can cause excessive head loss and flow
reductions if the air is not effectively released.
A butterfly valve is a valve that isolates or regulates the flows of a fluid. The closing mechanism
is a disk that rotates. Butterfly valves are high pressure recovery valves (also called high
capacity and high area ratio valves) with relatively small overall pressure drop in the fully
open position.
The main contents of the control system training include system operation and inspection etc., Aiming
to enable them to carry out daily maintenance of the equipment and to repair general faults. The

contractor shall provide the trainers with special tools, commands, drawings, and maintenance
manuals required for maintenance.

4 Jobsite operation
The Operation & Maintenance Manager shall be the organizer of training courses held by qualified
trainers. Operational & Maintenance will demonstrate the whole process, the techniques, and the
result to be achieved. Local regulations, Codes, and Standards shall be educated and emphasized with
the importance of compliance.
The trainees assigned by the Employer will receive on ‐the ‐job training in their working expertise,
which will contain all topics related to the operation and maintenance of the equipment.
The Operation & Maintenance Manager will organize the training for the Employer’s staff as well as
the Contractor’s construction teams.

Training Plan
The On‐The‐Job training will include practical and realistic components, firstly, through hands-on
exercises where trainees will be able to relate tasks to actual work. Secondly, a computer program will
be utilized where trainees are assisted and guided efficiently with the assistance of professional staff.
The scope of training in operation and maintenance will cover the main topics of operation and
maintenance work in accordance with requirements in the contract, the theoretical phase, and the on-
the-job phase, including the following courses.
Concepts and procedures of operation and maintenance and safety measures during maintenance
O&M training will contain an overview of the project E&M systems, subsystems, system
components, etc., and the O&M manuals, which include as-built drawings, maintenance requirements,
service procedures, etc. Maintenance management will include the basic principles, scheduling,
records and documentation.
5. TRAINING EVALUATION
Ongoing evaluation by the Operation & Maintenance Manager and Engineer will assess whether the
needs of the trainees are being satisfied and which methods are working, and which are not so
effective. With the database gathered during the evaluation, the training program and curriculum will
be continuously updated to meet the actual work demand and individual preferences of the trainees
6. TRAINING IMPLEMENTATION
The Employer's staff will be well-trained by selected Contractor experts who excel in construction
and management. The Operation & Maintenance Manager will develop instructors to prepare the
courses in advance, based on the staff training plans stipulated by the Employer, and ensure that the
training activities will achieve the desired results for Employer’s staff.
7. END‐OF‐COURSE ASSESSMENT
The purpose of the End-of-Course Assessment (ECA) is to measure the learning achievement and
effectiveness of the employer's personnel in terms of this training. The assessment will refer to pre-
defined criteria, which shall be discussed and approved by the employer. The ECA may include

practical hands-on testing and theoretical examination. The results of the assessment will be
summarized in a final training assessment report for each trainee.
At the end of the assessment, the Operation & Maintenance Manager and Engineer will analyze the
situation, evaluate the results, and submit a final report to the Employer.
