Soon it will be possible for Russians to receive independent, international news again.

The organization Journalists Without Borders (RSF) has indeed launched the satellite channel
'Svoboda', which is not subject to the Russian restrictions on press freedom. Hence the name, which
means 'freedom' in Russian.

This is what RSF writes in a press release.

As a supplier, the French satellite operator Eutelsat is responsible for Svoboda reaching the Russian
users.

In March 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin blocked access to international media in Russia.
