1 INT-DAY-CLASSROOM 1
ELI and MARY sitting at the end of the classroom. Both of
them are taking notes and focusing on the lecture.

Eli is clearly bored, checks her phone for notifications.

Once she finished, she realized that the professor was
already explaining another thing.
ELI
What did she say?

Mary was clearly not paying attention as she was

doodling her notes
MARY
Something about the cinematic
gaze...Honestly, I have no clue
ELI
(laughs)
Same, by the way, I’m Eli nice
talking to you

MARY
I’m Mary, likewise
There is a long pause, Mary continued doodling in her
notebook, while Eli comes closer to Mary.

ELI
(whispering)
What are you doing?

Mary looks at Eli out of the corner of her eye

MARY
Sketching
ELI
What is it?
Mary was about to answer but she quickly realized that Eli
was already distracted with her phone
2 INT-AFTERNOON-APARTMENT’S ENTRANCE 2

She opens the door, closes the door behind her. She puts the
phone in her pocket
ELI
(nodding)
I made a friend. Cool

3 INT-MOMENTS LATER-KITCHEN 3
Eli looks at her study guide and puts it aside. She stands
up and walks to the kitchen. She begins to play a Youtube
video on how to cook Ramen

ELI
(rolls eyes)
Five days? Hmmm, nah... I rather
not

Eli ends up eating ramen noodles with tuna.

4 INT-NIGHT-LIVING ROOM 4
She has finished eating, but can’t focus on the reading, so
she decides to put the book aside. Eli takes her computer,
opens Netflix and begins to watch "Pasión de Gavilanes"
ELI
(singing in Spanish)
¿Quién es ese hombre que me mira y
me desnuda? --- y me hace sentir
mujer
After watching the televenola, she got bored and closes the
laptop. She looks at the book
ELI (cont’d)
I could be studying for my finals,
or I could be ...
5 INT-EARLY MORNING-KITCHEN 5
The kitchen looks sketchy, the lights are dimmed and there
is white powder on the table. Eli has sunglasses on and is
about to sniff the white powder. Suddenly the lights are
turned on. Eli quickly lowers the volume of the background
music

ROOMMATE
What do you think you are doing?
ELI
A Narco Novela?

ROOMMATE
With vitamin C?
ELI
Well... I can’t afford cocaine, so

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 3.

ROOMMATE
Look, I don’t care what you are
doing. Just turn off the music,
it’s two in the morning...Would you
mind shutting up?!

Eli rolls her eyes and stops the music completely

ELI
Sure...

ROOMMATE
ok, thanks
Eli starts to clean all the mess she had done when she
realizes a red string is attached to her ring finger all
along

ELI
What is this?
Eli stares at it for a while. She was about to ignore it
until she realizes that the string keeps going on. Eli
starts to follow the path of the string. Eli gets out of the
building and continued to follow the string.
FADE TO BLACK
