1. What is Recreational?

-Recreational means "something done for recreation," and recreation, which was
originally "the curing of a sick person," combines the Latin re, "again" and creare, "to
create." Today we think of recreational activities as curing our boredom.

2. What is Sport?

- an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or

team competes against another or others for entertainment.

3.What is Recreational Sport?

-What does recreational sports (or popular sports) mean? According to Michels, the
term recreational sports refers to sports activities that mainly serve physical fitness,
the compensation of physical inactivity and the enjoyment of sports. This borders
on competitive-oriented and training-intensive competitive sports.

4. Examples of Recreational Sport?

 - Ball sports – football, rugby, volleyball, basketball, cricket, golf, tennis, netball.
 Athletics – running, jumping, throwing, triathlon, decathlon.
 Water sports – surfing,canoeing, kayaking, swimming, water polo, diving, rowing.
 Martial arts – karate, judo, kickboxing, boxing, taekwondo, kendo.

5. Types of Recreational Sports?

-Examples of recreation activities are walking, swimming, meditation, reading,

playing games and dancing.
