Pandemos

Today’s world is abruptly changing. The unpredictable future we have is highly

neglected by humanities. We only rivet ourselves to what we have and what we are right now as
present. People don’t even care about the number of changes in their surroundings. What they
think is enough will remain firm for them not making themselves ready for the coming
remonstrance which we will face.

“Education must continue,” the phrase that has always emphasized and uttered by the
government above as they undergo planning and huge preparation of what it takes to continue
schooling amidst this trying times. Am I ready? Is my one-and-a-half kilo brain ready? Is the
government ready? I doubt it. Being cognizant about our situation right now is one of the peak
issues of the society today. It hinders some aspects of life that are unable to pace on and
thousands of people were already unlucky to cherish their lives. It is today’s center of attraction,
the main topic of the government, and the paramount demurral of humans occurring over a wide
geographic area and affecting an exceptionally high proportion of the population all over the
world – the COVID-19 pandemic. The word ‘pandemic’ is from the Greek word “pandemos”
which means pertaining to all people or in a public common. See? It is not specifically the youth
who’s only suffering today, but all the concerned people living in this vast world. Economy is
decreasing; the demand and supply are not in the right queue, government is corrupting, people
are fighting against the leader, netizens are hungry for answers. Are we still talking about the
pandemic here? Because even the highest officials are not focus on finding possible solutions,
instead they’re making another commotion. There were people like teachers and students who
made their first move putting academic freeze into consideration. Because for them, health is
more important than education regarding this kind of outbreak we’re facing. They’re more
concern about the health condition of the youth. Live healthy but lack of knowledge or live
unhealthy and knowledgeably die?

Government should prioritize people’s need especially the voice of the youth today as
they embark for the possible solutions they think they can help improve the good status of our
country. Youth have already set their mind about their capacity in dealing certain situations,
because they know from the very beginning they’re the ones who will be affected and sometimes
victims of the unfathomable incidents. Youth are still not prepared and, so the government. This
is a risky action considering all is involved and the worse is, people always depend on the
government’s hand waiting for the miracle to outburst.

Every day is a change, a change that requires readiness among human beings. Saying
you’re prepared is easy but the truth is, you’re not. Hypocrisy is sometimes our way of making
people believe for a certain thing we think we can but we can’t. Just like how this pandemic
challenged us today. Millions of people including the youth are now adopting the tremendous
change which is currently happening this time. A great impact is bound waveringly to the people,
trade, economy, systems, and the government. All are affected and therefore, all must cooperate
and work together in beating this pandemic that causes numbered of troubles and
inconveniences. We didn’t wish this, nor hope to experience this kind of situation. All we have
to do is to support each other, help each other, and unite to one another.

The pandemic that we’re struggling at this juncture is only a challenge for us to be
stronger and think deeper of what best we can do and what we can offer for a help. Youth is the
one who is highly affected, yet they’re faith and firm relationship above is highly commendable
act of piety which they think would be the best they can offer as of the moment. This is only a
passerby for this will turn into history for the coming years. Change is better but what is best is
how people will prepare for tomorrow, make themselves ready for all circumstances, and
positively adopt changes. Government, adult and the youth, united as one in helping this country
aglow in fervors fire of positivity and remarkable result of cooperation. Soon, we will hear
everyone uttering, “Yes, we did and we surpass!”
