UMG 806 | Building Master-Slave-Structures

Ethernet (Modbus TCP) UMG 806 can be used in two different modes:
RS485 (Modbus RTU)  Standalone: one Ethernet module for each meter
 Master-Slave: one Ethernet module for up to 32
meters

In Master-Slave-mode up to 32 meters can be

connected to one master over a fieldbus cable

UMG 806 | Installation of the Device

Mounting:
The UMG 806 can be mounted on a standard 35 mm DIN rail.

Power suppy:
The UMG 806 requires a fused power supply of 80…270 V AC/DC  10%.

Voltage measurement inputs:

The 3 phases of the network to be measured must be connected to the meter.
The voltage must be in the following range: (230 VLN / 400 VLL ± 10%)

UMG 806 | Installation of the Device
Current measurement:
The UMG 806 requires CTs with secondary currents of ../1A or ../5A.
The recommended types are listed in this document.
Current Inputs I1…3 are mandatory, I4 (Neutral Current) and I5 (RCM) can be used optionally.

Communication interface:
The Ethernet interface (only with module EC1) can be connected directly to ethernet.
Alternatively, the RS485 interface of the UMG 806 can be used to integrate the meter via
Modbus RTU.
