DESIGN OF WSN (WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK) TO MONITORING

AND CONTROLLING OF ENVIRONMENTAL PARAMETERS

ABSTRACT:
The original intention of design of short-range wireless communication
network is to provide short-distance broadband wireless access to mobile
environment or formulation of temporary network; it is the further development of
internet in mobile environment.
The purpose is to provide short-range wireless communication network
for lower cost and more flexible use, wireless receiver module of multi-point short-
range wireless data collection and transmission network, which provides a low-
powered and high-performance wireless data communication system.

Data Acquisition system is an embedded system, which collects the data at

predefined time intervals from different sensors for different physical
measurements like temperature, light, etc., This project presents a new
development of RF Communication for data transmission. These systems not only
provide the ability to easily design and develop, but also display the collected data
in transmitter and receiver.
This project consists of two sections. One is Transmitter section and the
other is Receiver section. In transmitter section, the sensors regarding the
respective parameters are made to available such as temperature sensor and LDR
etc. In the Receiver section, the parameters are displayed in PC. In transmitter and
receiver sections, microcontroller forms the control unit, displayed on LCD and the
detection of parameters is done in a continuous manner and the detected value is
transmitted using the RF transceiver to the Receiver. Then at the Receiver section,
the Receiver receives the data with the help of RF transceiver and these data is
displayed in the PC at transmitter.

Every system is automated in order to face new challenges in the present

day situation. Automated systems have less manual operations, so that the
flexibility, reliabilities are high and accurate. Hence every field prefers automated
control systems. Especially in the field of electronics automated systems are doing
better performance. Any automated system will work effectively if it access
wirelessly. Here in this project we are going to use RF communication for remote
accessing of automated system. Probably the most useful thing to know about the
RF communication is that it is an international standard communication.

RF communication works by creating electromagnetic waves at a

source and being able to pick up those electromagnetic waves at a particular
destination. These electromagnetic waves travel through the air at near the speed of
light. The wavelength of an electromagnetic signal is inversely proportional to the
frequency; the higher the frequency, the shorter the wavelength.
