Notes
This pattern is rated intermediate. It is made from basic stitches but there are
many steps. The antenna, eyes and ears are made using basic amigurumi
techniques. All pieces can be started with a magic ring or standard, ch2 beginning.
If you are unfamiliar with any of the stitches, I highly recommend Crochet Geek on

make the videos but they are very helpful.
Braids: Start by joining the contrasting color at the back of the hat and sc all the
way around, join and FO. Next cut your yarn to make the braids. You will need 8
strands of each color, cut about 3 times as long as you want the braids to be.
Take 4 strands of each color and use a large crochet hook to pull them through the
bottom edge of the earflap. Pull half of the length of yarn through and tie. You
should now have 8 strands of each color. Braid and tie a knot a the end. Make the
second braid the same way, be careful to make it the same length as the first.
Trim ends.

Assembly
You should now have: 1 Hat body, 1 Antenna, 2 Ears and 3 Eyes. Stuff eyes with
fiberfill and whip stitch onto the hat just above the color change. Sew the antenna
on above the middle eye and the ears onto either side of the hat. For a cleaner
look, only sew through the back layer of the ears.
Enjoy your cool new hat! I am always an e-mail away if you have any questions:
