RE: George Bessler

Mrs. Helen Bessler, mother of George Bessler was hospitalized 16th March and underwent surgery of the
right lung on 17th March. She had a cancer of the right lung that require removal of two lobes and
dissection of the superior vena cava. Following the surgery, her recovery has been inhibited by a
respiratory insufficiency that require the employment of tracheostomy the evening following it. She is
still completely dependent on the assist respiration apparatus, and while she is making some progress,
the cardiac status still remains doubtful. Therefore, the overall prognosis is guarded in view of the
underlined pathology, it extends on the boost operative respiratory insufficiency.

The life expectancy is difficult to anticipate, but the presence of her family within the next six-month
period would be a great benefit to her. I would recommend that any action that could be arranged on
behalf of her son would be most helpful.
