Conveyor Belts need to run clean for better productivity and longer life.Belt scrapers are
essential for belt conveyors head end discharge for cleaning the sticky carry back materials from
raw materials handling conveyor belts to achieve zero spillage and good environment.
SUPL make belt scrapers are Multi blade segmented type, Double pivoted positive element with
Self Adjusting sprung back mechanism for individual cleaner blades and Sprung Back Torsion Arm
Mechanism at both ends for in built pressure and constant contact and Automatic Adjustments against
Wear along with wear indicator.
»Best possible modular superior Design
» Modular segments with replaceable & Interchangeable cleaner blades.
»Simple installation,
»Suitable for all belt speeds.
»Suitable for use with all types of mechanical joints and fasteners.
»Optimum cleaning results.
»Removed material returns to main flow.
»Nil wear to the belt.
»Low wear to the cleaner.
»Long life expectancy for scraper and belt.
»Very low maintenance.
»Value for money.ORI-CBS

Swagath Urethane is a world leader in the
design and engineering of conveyor belt cleaning
systems. We recognize that conveyors are the product
life lines to any plant. It is essential that all conveyor
systems run efficiently in moving your products from
‘one production unit to the next without failure or any
unscheduled downtime.
Belt cleaners are an essential part of any con-
veyor system. Belt cleaners help remove product carry-
back and prevent it from falling off at various points
along the return side of the belt causing various house-
keeping and maintenance problems.
Carry-back can lead to:
»xcessive buildup and wear on belt idles and pulleys
»»Conveyor belt misalignment due to the artificial crown
created by the carry-back
Accumulation of material flling off idlers and structure
to the ground or on buildings, vehicles or even people
Negative and unsafe work environment
We have st high standards to help plants minimize
problems associated with material carry-back.
Our guidelines for effective belt cleaners
a
»Design for optimum clean with the least amount of
pressure.
»Position the blade out of the main flow of the material
»if possible, instal the belt cleaners in the main chute or
an area that will be easily cleaned and maintained.
»Primary blades should be no more than the width of
the material being conveyed.
Engineered and designed to handle “worst case”
conditions.
»Designed for ease of maintenance.
»Quick and simple replacement blade change.
>Tensioner to maintain tension throughout the life of
the blade.
PRIMARY / SECONDARY
We generally recommend multiple belt cleaners
be installed to provide effective cleaning on a conveyor
system.
Primary or Pre-Cleaners
Installed at a positive angle, these belt cleaners
would be mounted directly against the head pulley
below the normal trajectory path of the material.
Secondary Cleaners
Installed after the point where the belt leaves the
head (discharge| pulley and or anywhere on the return
side of the belt where it can be cleaned and maintained
effectively.
Chute Inspection Doors
Chute Inspection Doors are a necessary part of
any transfer point to allow safe inspection and access
to maintain the belt cleaner systems.ORI-CBSORI-CBS

Bulk Material Characteristics and Belt Cleaning
Considerations
‘The material to be cleaned from the belt affects the selection
Pag of bl laner system soils important tobe able o dere
."] and classify the bulk material. Changes in the source and qualty
ofthe bulk material can have a dramatic effect on the abilty of a
cleaning system to function. Its important to classify the properties
and characteristics ofthe bulk material. The basic elements of the
classification system are Size, Flowabily, Abrasiveness, Moisture,
and other Miscellaneous characteristics.
Because ofthe postion on the head pulley, the material removed
is most easily discharged into the main chute. Therefore this location
is considered the PrimaryLocation for belt cleaning.
‘The second most practical location for belt cleaners is the space
between where the belt leaves the head pulley and where it contacts,
the first snub pulley, bend pulley or return idler
SUPL both a primary and a secondary belt cleaner for the best cleaning results.
Primary Peeling type belt cleaners are installed at the 9 o'clock position on the
head pulley referred to as the primary position. These are the most common
type of belt cleaners.
Peeling - Primary
(ore-cleaner)
Secondary Scraping type belt cleaners are installed after the tangent point where
—_ the belt leaves the head or discharge pulley. Normally referred to as the secondary
position, They are positioned against a belt at an angle that conforms to the direction
\ the belt travels. Commonly referred to as the “angle of attack" These type cleaners
in essence act ike a squeegee. They are used mainly when sticky fines cannot be
removed by the primary cleaner.
Scraping - SecondaryImpact Pads
Orithane Impact Pads are designed for loading points of Conveyor Belts, where a combination
of high energy absorption and low friction is needed. Due to ease of installation, these Impact Pads
replace the conveyor rollers, which eventually break or seize and act like a brake. Further, Impact Pads
provide greater belt support area thereby increasing impact absorption and reducing impact on the belt.
The top cover is made of an UHMW-PE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene), which
gives these Impact Pads a very low friction and high weer resistant top surface. The middle portion
is of a high quality rubber having high resilience, which acts as a shock absorber at the loading
zones of conveyors. These Impact Pads are manufactured with an Aluminium T Track fixing system
for easy installation. The Impact Bars come in standard lengths of 1220mm, with 10mm or 12mm top
cover of UHMWPE.

050 x 100 x 1220/915
075 x 100 x 1220/915
100 x 100 x 1220/915Support frames are designed to suit a wide range of applications for impact pad. The heavy
duty sturdy pads are fixed over an equally robust heavy duty bolted type adjustable support frame to
absorb high impact load.
